Joy Behar is one of the longest-running co-hosts on The View. This means she’s seen her fair share of co-workers and panels over the years. Recently, she’s opened up about the times when she didn’t quite get along with the other hosts of The View.

Joy Behar Has Worked With A Variety Of Names On The View

Behar first became part of The View in 1997, serving as one of the show’s original panelists. Initially departing in 2013, she continued to co-host, until returning as a regular co-host in 2015. This naturally means Behar has worked with a variety of different names over the years.

In addition to Behar, the current list of panelists includes Whoopi Goldberg, Sunny Hostin, Sara Haines, Ana Navarro, and Alyssa Farah Griffin. That said, fans have also seen a lot of other prominent figures take on hosting duties on The View over the years. Such names include Barbara Walters, Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Star Jones, and Rosie O’Donnell.

Recently, Behar appeared on an episode of Behind the Table, where The View‘s executive producer Brian Teta talks to the series’ co-hosts to talk about working on the show. During the appearance, Behar discussed what it was like working with her co-hosts.

Behar assured there was a strong sense of camaraderie when it came to the ladies of The View. She explained, “If someone starts to attack one of us, I will defend. It’s the family — never talk outside the family. The Godfather. Is that how the line goes?” Teta summed it up, “Never speak against the family or never talk outside the family.”

Brian Teta Ended The Conversation With An Inside Joke

Behar noted, “It’s one thing for us to have our own critiques amongst ourselves.” She then had positive things to share about the current panel.

As Behar explained, “This group doesn’t fight a lot, this group is a very, very amiable with each other.” She continued, “I’ve been here many years now, and I know a lot of different groups. This group is the least… what’s the word I’m looking for…? They have the least animosity.”

In recent years, Behar has shown some closeness with some of her co-hosts. As previously reported, Whoopi Goldberg recently took time off The View to help Behar with her off-Broadway play, My First Ex-Husband. On April 30, Goldberg made a special one-night appearance and shared the stage with Behar.

That said, for Behar to dub the current group the most “amiable,” that implies things didn’t go so well in previous years. Fans have often speculated about which co-hosts have bad blood with each other, even after leaving the show.

For her part, Behar didn’t want to give names, but she did admit there have been times when things didn’t go as swimmingly on the panel. As she put it, “Some years they’ve been bad.” Teta teased, “I can’t imagine what you’re talking about.”
