Bachelorette star Kaitlyn Bristowe has been open about her mental and physical health struggles. She shared a new, sad medical condition. Keep reading to find out more about her latest ailment.

Kaitlyn Bristowe Previously Revealed Depression, Anxiety & More

Kaitlyn Bristowe is one of the more outspoken stars from Bachelor Nation. Some critics might say she has the habit of oversharing about her life. The world had a front-row seat to her relationship and eventual breakup with Jason Tartick. But she’s keeping her latest rumored romance close to the vest. She’s allegedly been dating Tayshia Adams’ ex-fiance, Zac Clark, for over a year. They were first spotted together in December 2023 but haven’t confirmed that they’re dating.

Kaitlyn Bristowe has never been shy about disclosing her health woes. She’s discussed her struggle with depression, body dysmorphia, anxiety, and more. She took to Instagram earlier this year to share what helped her through a serious battle with depression in her 20s.

The Dancing With The Stars champ wrote that she “hit rock bottom” in her younger years. “I had no money, no job, no education, no home, no credit, I had lost myself and got dumped by someone I thought I’d marry,” she shared.

Kaitlyn Bristowe revealed that she didn’t want to live, but a small gesture by her stepdad saved her life. She revealed that he gave her the Cheer Bear from the Care Bears and that, along with therapy, pulled her out of the depression. She said that she still sleeps with the Care Bear when she stays at her mom and stepdad’s house.

Bachelorette Star Opens Up About New Sad Medical Condition She’s Experiencing

Kaitlyn Bristowe still deals with depression, but not as severe as it was in her younger years. However, she previously shared that her depression is linked to her menstrual cycle. Many women can relate to getting overly emotional before and during their period. The reality star shared on Instagram Story a moment when she broke down and was overcome with emotions. She encouraged her followers to normalize meltdowns.

After presumably getting questions in her DMs, she took to another slide to share more about the cause of her meltdowns. She revealed three medical struggles she’s dealing with that can trigger the meltdowns.

“For people asking, I suffer from PMDD, PCOS, and POSSIBLY perimenopause,” she shared. She added that the perimenopause, which is the stage before a woman goes into menopause, has unlocked a “whole new level of sadness.”

Perimenopause usually starts between the ages of 40 and 44, though it varies. The Bachelorette star turns 40 in June. In addition to the hormone changes, perimenopause also signals the end of a woman’s ability to get pregnant. Kaitlyn Bristowe has been open about her desire to have children. She recently joked that she finally got “twins,” but she meant a breast augmentation.

As for her other conditions, PMDD is Premenstrual dysphoric disorder, which is a severe form of PMS. According to the Mayo Clinic, Polycystic Ovary Syndrome is another condition related to the menstrual cycle. It can cause irregular periods, acne, weight gain, and more.
