Hallmark Mystery Removes ‘Mystery Island: Play For Keeps’ Premiere From Schedule
Hallmark has once again confused Sleuthers. Although the network has added a new mystery to the June Passport To Love schedule, they have also removed the originally scheduled June 5 mystery movie premiere of Mystery Island: Play For Keeps.
Here is the latest news on the feel-good network’s reduced mystery premieres.

Hallmark Adds A Mystery Premiere And Takes Away Mystery Island: Play For Keeps Premiere
It has just been over a week since Hallmark announced the 12th movie premiere in the Murder She Baked/Hannah Swensen series, Pie To Die For: A Hannah Swensen Mystery. This movie is premiering on Sunday, June 22, at 8 p.m., Eastern, only on the Hallmark Channel. The Mystery Channel will not be airing it as they are already starting Christmas In July that weekend. Therefore, Sleuthers should expect two June mystery premieres?
Not exactly.

Mystery Island: Play For Keeps Removed From Schedule
Hallmark has not made an announcement about canceling the June 5 premiere of Mystery Island: Play For Keeps. How do we know it is not premiering? As of the Hannah Swensen announcement, this mystery was no longer on the schedule for June 5 or any other day. That includes the regular and Mystery Channel.
Furthermore, the press site still shared photos and information on the June 5 premiere. In addition, the network’s YouTube page still included the preview and sneak peek of the third movie in that mystery series.

Therefore, TV Shows Ace had contacted the network several times inquiring about missing premiere from the official schedule and what channel the new Hannah Swensen would premiere on. The folks in the media department explained they were at the Bills film site.
While confirming that Hannah Swensen would only premiere on the Hallmark Channel, there was no information on Mystery Island.

However, on the next day, the videos were removed from YouTube, and the press site Play For Keeps post was removed. That seemed to confirm that Hallmark was not airing this movie in June. There was no information on another premiere date later in the summer.

Sounds Like Hallmark Has Stopped Making New Mysteries
Right now, Sleuthers may be confused as to why the network did not decide to premiere two new mysteries in June. But, it sounds like there are bigger problems at the network. The Hallmark Mysteries & More Podcast shared some information that could possibly explain why there have been so few new mysteries in 2025.
Eric shared, “I’m getting a little confirmation from some people that it’s definitely a mandate that’s going out that mysteries like ones that were approved may not be happening.” He continued sharing why this is so confusing. He pointed out that just a year ago, the network rebranded HMM to Hallmark Mystery.
They had a question. Could the departure of Hallmark Media executive Lisa Hamilton Daly be the reason that mysteries have been missing in 2025? That is still a question left unanswered.

What Was Hallmark Mystery Island: Play For Keeps About?
Although there is no information on when Hallmark’s Mystery Island: Play For Keeps will premiere, there is already a synopsis. “Mystery Island hosts a corporate retreat with a guest being Emilia’s ex-fiancé. Old feelings become complicated, tensions run high, and allegations arise when a guest is found dead.”
In addition, there is a synopsis for the fourth movie in the series, Mystery Island: House Rules. “Mystery Island success raises plans of expansion, and the island team meet their Mystery Mountain counterparts for a friendly murder game, but the fun ends with a murder in plain sight.”
Both mysteries sound fantastic. Hopefully, the network will premiere them in 2025.

Sleuthers, are you disappointed or confused that Mystery Island: Play For Keeps is not on the Hallmark schedule?

Not nice to not show anew movie and then just ignore the people. Watch out folks you are not the only show in town. Lots of other stations besides y’all that show great movies!
Disappointed that Hallmark has stopped making new mysteries.
I was looking forward to seeing the new Mystery Island movie and then you took off the schedule for no reason. I like the mysteries and you seem to be showing less,
The Hannah Swensen series should have stopped long ago. There are much better series to continue with.
Mystery Island’s first mystery had a good ending but the second one was predictable. This series isn’t work continuing either.
I was looking forward to the Mystery Island AND the Hannah Swensen. Don’t need Christmas in July, completely unnecessary when you start Christmas in October. The main reason I watch is for the Mysteries. Will give up Hallmark completely if they take Mysteries away.
I was really looking forward to the Mystery Island movie. Not a lot of new stuff is on Hallmark mystery channel. Will probably drop my membership at the end of the summer if nothing new happens.
