‘When Calls The Heart’ Season 13 Update ‘We Are Back!’
Hearties have been waiting for this since the March 23 finale episode “Must Be Gold.” When Calls The Heart Season 13 is “back”! Here are the first details about the upcoming season.
Hallmark Has Started Production On When Calls The Heart Season 13
Late on Tuesday, Hearties got an unexpected When Calls The Heart Season 13 update. The Hallmark series’ costume designer, Barbara Gregusova, went to Instagram to share an exciting reel entitled “When Calls The Heart Season 13 ‘We are back!’❤️”
This is surprising as the Hallmark series production schedule has not yet been shared online. It was assumed that they would start filming in July. However, starting the pre-production in late May is much earlier than fans anticipated. Of course, new showrunner Joy Gregory and her writing team have been working on storylines for the upcoming season.
In the post, the costumer designer wrote, “First day back and we’re rolling–literally! Too truckloads (and that’s not even all). Huge thanks to Morgan, Martin, Ruby & Gold for making it such a smooth start to Season 13!”
The video shows all of the racks and boxes of clothing items that will be needed to dress the enormous cast of this Hallmark series. She ended the posts with many hashtags including #1920sfashion. Many Hearties will remember in Season 12, the hems went up and the flapper style of clothing started to infiltrate Hope Valley.

Series Costume Team Have A Big Cast To Dress
Creating costumes for When Calls The Heart is a mighty task. Before one moment is filmed, the costume team has to put together and fit a wardrobe for each character. Moreover, they will have consulted with the showrunner so that they can create gowns, wedding dresses, appropriate children’s attire, accessories, and more for the season.
Many Hearties may remember the gorgeous ensemble that Erin Krakow wore at the special party. The dress was beaded and embellished. In addition, Erin wore a sparkly headband. Meanwhile, Kevin McGarry was decked out in a black suit with a crisp white vest, shirt, and bow tie.
Although Gregusova started buying items in early Spring, many of these items will require altering to fit the time period.
