Ozzy Osbourne Gets Huge Honor From Hometown

Ozzy Osbourne is set to team up with Black Sabbath for a final gig this July. However, before he takes his final bow, Ozzy’s hometown is set to honor him in a special way. A few figures involved have already spoken out about the upcoming tribute.
Ozzy Osbourne & Black Sabbath Are Set To Perform One Final Show In Birmingham
The heavy metal band Black Sabbath formed in the late 1960s. The band’s founding members were guitarist Tony Iommi, drummer Bill Ward, bassist Geezer Butler, and singer Ozzy Osbourne. Staring in the 1980s, Ozzy would go on to have a prominent solo career, soon being the namesake of the Ozzfest music tour.
In the 2000s, Ozzy also became known to audiences as a television personality, appearing with his family in the MTV series, The Osbournes. In the 2010s, Ozzy and his children also appeared in the series, Ozzy & Jack’s World Detour.
He is teaming up with Iommi, Butler, and Ward for what is believed to be their final show. The band will perform at “Back to the Beginning.” This metal festival and charity event will take place on Villa Park in Birmingham, England, the band’s hometown, on July 5, 2025.
The event will help raise money for Cure Parkinson’s, the Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and Acorn Children’s Hospice. For his part, Ozzy revealed he had been diagnosed with Parkinson’s back in 2020.
Ozzy also grew up in Birmingham’s Aston area. The band had also formed in the area in 1968. To promote the upcoming event and honor the area, artist Mr. Murals is set to unveil a new mural. In a statement with the BBC, the artist shared it will pay tribute to the “creative spirit of Birmingham.”
This Isn’t The First Time Mr. Murals Has Depicted Ozzy Osbourne In Art
The mural is set to be 120 feet. It will also depict the four original members of Black Sabbath, which includes Osbourne, Iommi, Butler, and Ward.
Mr. Murals continued, “The band’s influence is everywhere, from metal music to fashion to attitude. I wanted to create something powerful and raw, just like their sound, that people can stand in front of and feel the energy of Sabbath and of the city itself.”

The mural had been commissioned by Central BID Birmingham, with support from Network Rail. New Street station manager Elizabeth Graham also shared, “Along with our very own Ozzy the bull, this new mural will provide a fantastic welcome to the thousands of fans arriving into the city ahead of Black Sabbath’s Villa Park gig.”
This isn’t the first time Mr. Murals has depicted Osbourne. The artist previously depicted the Black Sabbath vocalist in black and white. In addition, Mr. Murals is also known for creating the Peaky Blinders mural, which can be seen on the Digbeth Loc Studio walls.
