Major Storyline Revealed For ‘Tracker’ Season 3 By Series Showrunner

Tracker Season 2 ended with Colter Shaw uncovering some shocking news about his father’s death. However, there seems to be a set of new questions that could be a framework for Season 3 of Justin Hartley’s hit CBS series.
What does showrunner Elwood Reid tease about the next season?
Tracker Season 3 Hints At Colter Shaw Disappearing
Recently, Tracker showrunner Elwood Reid spoke to TV Line about Season 3. Reid was asked if they plan on creating continuous storylines in addition to the weekly case. His answer was multifaceted and promises a lot of intrigue. However, he started out by cautioning how this is a “long season.” Therefore, they need to “parcel” some of the long-running storyline. If you give it all away early on, “you’ve got no where to go,”
Next, he spoke about an early Season 2 episode, “The Night Movers.” In this episode, Colter is looking for people, while, he meets someone who helps people hide. The writer shared how this could present some interesting storylines.
Because here’s Colter, who finds people, and here’s this woman, who disappears people. Playing with those ideas, I think, is really interesting. There’s a world out there that we can tap into [with] those longer story arcs. And I think, I mean, you tell me…I think the audience can handle it.
Couple this tease with Justin Hartley’s recent tease that maybe Colter could be on the run in Season 3. Colter Shaw could use his skills to hide away from the authorities. This would provide opportunities for new storylines. Moreover, this could allow Colter to deep dive into his father’s death and get more answers. If he is hidden, he could piece together exactly what happened to Ashton Shaw.
More Shaw Family Reunions In Season 3
Besides the return to “The Night Movers” episode, Elwood Reid also promised more time with the Shaws in Tracker Season 3. The showrunner talked about Mary Dove Shaw and asked, “Why did she lie to Colter?” He had a series of questions about Colter’s mother’s lies. What else did she lie about?
The showrunner reminded fans that Russell is the one to bring up how Colter’s father may not be what he seemed. But, that phone number clue will be key in Season 3. “We’re going to start to unravel that a little bit as far as the Ashton character goes, and I think that will bring in a fun cast of characters.”
Most importantly, Season 3 should reveal “a little bit of what his father may have been involved in.”
Therefore, this mystery is not going anywhere. They are going to slowly unravel it all. Also, Colter needs to determine facts. He has been lied to so much that he needs to look at the clues with fresh eyes. Maybe he has missed something important?
