Katie Thurston Searches For New Options After Failed Medicine
Katie Thurston is on the search for new options after having medicine that was supposed to work, but failed. This is another defeating step in her journey. However, she is not giving up and is not going to go down easily. This is something she never expected to have to go through. However, she is being open and honest with fans about her entire journey. Katie Thurston Is Going Through Most Difficult Time
Katie Thurston is going through a difficult time in her life. However, fans have been trying to support her in every way possible. She was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer. Thurston is young, and this was unexpected. Since her diagnosis, they also found parts of the cancer in her liver. So, she needs more treatment than she originally thought. After finding out she had cancer, she got married to Jeff Arcuri. The two are happy together, and he is supporting her in every way he can. However, Katie continues to find out bad news about her diagnosis and treatments. Another one just hit her hard.
She Searches For New Options After Medicine Failed
Katie Thurston is searching for new options after her first medicine failed.
Unfortunately, my period started, which shouldn’t happen when trying to be in medically induced menopause. We are switching from the Zoladex shot to the Lupron shot in hopes it works. If not, I’ll have to have my ovaries removed (a decision I’d prefer not to make until we have children.) I had a consultation for a histotripsy today- a newly approved treatment for small liver lesions. Pending approval from insurance, I’m going to do that for my liver instead of radiation. Given I’m stage 4, I’ll hold off on radiation on the liver for as long as possible. Once the liver is managed, I can tackle my boobs. I want them gone. I’ve never been so sure of something. I can see the cancer through the network of veins through my pale skin. I can feel the cancer when I try to sleep.
This is a hard and sad time for Katie.
It seems as though Katie had her period even though she was supposed to be going through medically induced menopause. She is going to have to try another medication. However, if that does not work, she is going to have to get her ovaries removed. This is not something she wants whatsoever. Katie is going to exhaust every other possibility before resorting to that. Fans are keeping her in their thoughts as she has another defeating step in her journey. What do you think about this?
