‘Young & The Restless’ When Will Billy Flynn Debut New Character?
It was announced earlier this year that Billy Flynn would be switching soaps. The actor is set to leave Days of Our Lives and join The Young and the Restless. However, fans are debating just when he will make his debut on his new soap. This also comes out amid fans theorizing about what his character will be like.
Billy Flynn Had Played Chad DiMera On Days of Our Lives For Over A Decade
Soap fans best know Flynn as Chad DiMera on Days of Our Lives. He first joined the series in 2014, with the character previously being played by Casey Deidrick.
After around a decade on the soap, however, it was announced back in March that Flynn would be leaving the series. While viewers will say goodby to Chad, or at least Flynn’s version of the character, they would soon see the actor on another soap: The Young and the Restless. However, fans aren’t quite sure when Flynn is expecting to make his debut in Genoa City.
In fact, much of Flynn’s role on the show, including what his character will be, has been shrouded in mystery. At this time, fans have been speculating what the addition will bring to the soap.
A release date wasn’t announced when the news of Flynn’s casting was made. In the time since then, fans have been theorizing on just when he will appear.
As noted by Parade, the soap could be saving Flynn’s arrival for May sweeps. After all, the announcement came out just after February sweeps had commenced. By the look of things, the publication suggested Flynn will appear towards the end of the period.
The Young And The Restless Fans Have Been Sharing Their Guesses On Who Billy Flynn Will Be On The Soap
It is also known that Flynn has started filming for The Young and the Restless back in March. As the soap is known to film around six to eight weeks in advance, the timing could line up for his debut.
For the time being, many fans suspect the character may turn out to be, or at least have some connection to, the elusive Aristotle Dumas. Meanwhile, Amanda’s return, and her connection to Dumas, could suggests the soap will soon reveal Dumas’ identity.

If this theory proves to be true, the soap might be planning to have Flynn’s debut be a big surprise to viewers. In fact, the soap could want Flynn’s appearance to be unannounced for a variety of reasons. After all, fans have other theories on who Dumas could be, including him actually being a woman.
Flynn finished his run on Days of Our Lives this past winter. However, fans are expected to still see him as Chad well until early 2026. Assuming he will appear in Genoa City sometime soon, this means soap fans will see Flynn play two different characters on the soaps at the same time.
Back in March, Flynn also talked about his time on the show around the time his departure was announced. Speaking with TV Insider, he noted, “I am grateful for my years at DAYS; it changed my life in the best ways. I’ve always said these stories we tell are like doing a play, and I’ve spent the last 10-plus years playing this amazing character and telling one of the all-time great love stories.”
