‘Unexpected’ Jason Korpi Gives Rare Family Update
Former Unexpected star Jason Korpi has shared a rare family update after leaving the series in Season 5. He and his girlfriend, Kylen Smith, were very controversial as he was extremely volatile. So, what is going on with the duo as of 2025? Keep reading for more details.
Jason Korpi Gives Rare Family Update
When Jason Korpi and Kylen Smith joined Unexpected in Season 5, viewers were immediately turned off. Jason was controlling and did all he could to alienate his girlfriend from her family. They were also getting ready to become teen parents, but Jason had very strong opinions. He did not want Kylen to get an epidural and wanted everything done his way. When she was in labor, he was thrown out of the hospital as he was causing unnecessary stress on Kylen and the baby. By the time the reunion came around, he and Kylen were even more defiant.
Viewers wanted them gone from the show, but they claimed that they were leaving on their own. After the season ended, the couple went on to have a second baby, alongside their son, Xavier. They welcomed a daughter, Oakley, but stayed low-key and away from social media. Now, Jason is back with an update on his family. He made a video, and in it, he started off by showing the old version of himself. The young and irresponsible boy who popped up in Season 5.
He then transitioned to his family and noted that they saved him, adding that they are the real meaning of life. It showcased Kylen, Xavier, Oakley, and Jason in a sweet snap.
The former Unexpected star seems to have changed his ways and realized how lucky he is that Kylen stayed with him. Many wanted her to leave and never look back, but she stuck by his side. This may not have been the healthiest decision in the moment. In the long run, she may have been the best thing to ever happen to Jason, which is good to see.
Is This A Lasting Situation?
Right now, the former Unexpected star seems to be on a great path and really invested in his family. However, Jason Korpi may very well be telling people what they want to hear. He may also be lying about how good he is doing, as no one has seen evidence that he has actually changed. After he posted his clips, fans immediately chimed in with their thoughts on Jason and if he was a different man:
- Not saying she looks bad but I wouldn’t put it beyond Jason to not let her get dolled up before family photos or girl is just so stressed she didn’t care .
- poor girl you can see how checked out she is from her eyes. meanwhile hes smirking ear to ear
- I’m sure he hasn’t changed. She still looks like she has no life in her eyes and he still looks like he’s smirking. Plus as poor as they are, they would have wanted to stay on the show.
- We didn’t watch him be irresponsible, we watched him be abusive. UGH I loathe this kid.
So, it seems Unexpected fans do not think he is being honest about changing. Plus, they do not believe Jason is allowing Kylen to be free.
