‘The View’ Whoopi Goldberg’s Abrupt Absence, Is She OK?
In a recent episode of The View, fans of the popular talk show were quick to notice that Whoopi Goldberg was not around to do her usual moderating duties. Why was the popular co-host absent from her usual post? Is there something going on?
Whoopi Goldberg Is A Staple On The View
As popular as The View is with watchers, there’s no question that a big draw for people to watch the show is Whoopi Goldberg. People have been following her career for decades, and they love everything she brings to the segments of the show.
Whoopi regularly serves as the moderator for the discussions that the ladies have on The View. While Joy Behar regularly steps in whenever Whoopi is unavailable, the vast majority of watchers agree that no one does it quite like Whoopi, and whenever she is missing in action, watchers take notice.
Goldberg Absent From Recent Talk Show Scenes, What Happened?
In recent The View scenes, talk show fans were quick to notice that a major component was missing from the broadcast. Whoopi Goldberg was nowhere to be found. As is usually the case whenever Whoopi is not present for the show, Joy Behar took the lead, and she even addressed why Whoopi was not there.
At the top of the Wednesday, May 14 broadcast of The View, Joy Behar addressed the audience, saying, “Whoopi’s got some kind of little bug. Not Covid, though, not Covid. She was wearing a mask yesterday. She wasn’t feeling well, but she’s coming back tomorrow — supposedly, if she feels better.”
Whoopi Goldberg Has A Lot Going On Outside Of The View
As much as The View fans love Whoopi Goldberg on the popular talk show, fans also know that she regularly has a lot of things going on. Whoopi often attends big events, and at times, she even shows up on Broadway. So, it’s not entirely out of the ordinary for her to be missing from a broadcast.
In this particular case, however, it’s clear that she was down with some kind of bug, as Joy Behar pointed out. As longtime fans of the show know, even when someone like Whoopi is missing from the broadcast, the show must go on. Luckily, Joy has a lot of experience taking the reins. As much as people say the program is not the same whenever Whoopi is out, Joy does a more than adequate job of filling in when needed.
- Based on recent fan comments, a lot of viewers are wishing Whoopi well, with one person writing, “Get well soon Whoop! Wish she was here to weigh in on this pivotal trial I definitely wanted to hear her point of view.”
- It turns out, some people even prefer Joy moderating, with one person writing, “Always great to have Joy moderating. She has much to contribute besides the usual!”

I had heard that the network had a few of them on Time out as they consider which ones of them they have to let go. Considering all of the millions these ladies are costing them on Lawsuits as their ratings & Viewership has tanked to MSNBC levels, I’ve heard they are about to cancel the view. I quit watching them about7 years ago. I don’t mind Woopie, nearly as much as the one called Sonny, and Joy Blow Hard.

Why did you leave out the real reason? Whoopi was sued for defamation, lost, and now ABC may go broke paying $800 million judgement because of her. ABC is considering firing her and cancelling “The View.”
