McBee Dynasty star Steve McBee’s fraud sentencing has been postponed as it was supposed to take place in June 2025. So, when was it moved to, and why a delay in sentencing? More so, has he changed his guilty tune? Keep reading for more details.

Steve McBee’s Fraud Sentencing Postponed

In November 2024, McBee Dynasty patriarch Steve McBee was found guilty of federal crop insurance fraud. He was facing up to thirty years in prison with no parole, which was a scary prospect. For Season 2, which is set to start airing shortly, he is no longer a core part of the series. Rather, his ex-wife Kristi McBee is taking over and manning the show. Initially, fans could not understand why. Maybe it was so they could get to know the boys’ mother better, and then Steve’s guilty plea came out. It is unclear if this will be addressed on the show, but it does not paint him in a very good light.

He was set to be sentenced in June 2025, but that has since been postponed. Now, it has been moved to September 9th, 2025, due to scheduling conflicts. The U.S. District Court for the District of Western Missouri approved Steve’s request to move the sentencing, and it could be due to Season 2 coming out. He likely has press to do for the hit reality series, which was moved to Bravo. If the new season is being released in June, then it would make sense why he has prior commitments.

The McBee Dynasty star’s attorneys did speak out on why he needed it to be delayed, and it appeared to have nothing to do with scheduling issues:

“Counsel, in part due to the demands of other matters and in part due to the complexities of this matter, requires additional time to properly prepare financial and sentencing materials for the probation office and the court.”

They went on to add that the June deadline would not allow them adequate time to do all that is necessary for the case. However, September was much more doable and they felt gave them ample time to gather all that was needed.

What’s Next?

As aforementioned, Steve McBee is facing thirty years in prison and a hefty fine. Furthermore, as part of the McBee Dynasty star’s deal, he is foregoing parole. He could also face five years of supervised release with a million-dollar fine. Steve’s fraud spanned from 2018 to 2020, costing the USDA millions. After he pleaded guilty, fans of the show had their own thoughts about what happened. One person believed that he only pleaded guilty to keep his sons safe. Regardless, they felt what he did was shameful:

  • He pled guilty so they couldn’t bring any of the kids into it. While a noble fatherly move, he’s still a sh*t human for doing what he did.
  • You could just tell watching the show something was up.

After the sentencing was postponed, some questioned if this was the end of McBee Dynasty. Had his fraudulent behavior caused the demise of the series? Clearly, it has not, but fans do want to watch the show now more than ever to see how it all plays out.
