Live With Kelly and Mark stars Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos began their relationship on the famous soap opera All My Children. They are still together and share three beautiful children. After years of not working together, Mark joined her as co-host of Live and fans just love seeing them on air together.
Now, the power couple is promoting a new project that they hold near and dear to their hearts. Plus, what makes this project even more special is that their son, Michael, is a part of it as well. Kelly and Mark spoke to People about their new gig.
What is their new project? Kelly and Mark are working side by side on a scripted podcast that is inspired by 1990s-style soap operas. This podcast called Summer Breeze, is a ten-episode series. It is produced by their company, Milojo Productions, which is named after their three children.
Their son, Michael, is part of the entertainment industry, so why not bring him on board for their Audible exclusive podcast series? Summer Breeze is set in the high-stakes world of 1990s daytime soaps. It follows a struggling screenwriter (played by The Good Fight’s Sarah Steele) who sells her personal script to a powerful producer Gordon Ready (Consuelos), only to discover a darker side to her dream.
The official synopsis says, In response to finding out Gordan’s true intentions, Frears “forms an unlikely alliance with a former soap opera star named Carolyn Harris (Ripa), who is harboring secrets of her own.”
It continues to say, “Together, these two devise a daring, twisted plan to seek justice against the producer through the long-running soap opera, Summer Breeze.”
Why Is This Project So Special To Them?
In the interview, Live With Kelly and Mark stars Kelly Ripa and Mark Consuelos say that this scripted podcast is a fresh take on the genre they love. They met on a soap opera, so for them, this is special because it’s a full-circle moment.
There is a star-studded cast on board for their 10-episode series. It was written and executive-produced by Aaron Tracy (Law & Order: SVU).
