John Foster has really made an impression on American Idol, with plenty of fans talking about him. In fact, Foster himself recently took to social media to address rumors about him. Recently, fans have especially been wondering just how old the Idol contestant really is.

John Foster Recently Performed As Part Of American Idol‘s Two-Part Disney Night

American Idol fans have listened to Foster perform songs like “Don’t Rock the Jukebox” and “Callin’ Baton Rouge.” He also made headlines with the original song, “Tell That Angel I Love Her,” which was dedicated to his late friend, Maggie Dunn.

Recently, Foster made an impression during the season’s two part Disney Night. He performed “The Bare Necessities” from The Jungle Book and “Rainbow Connection” from The Muppet Movie. Foster is no stranger to Disney, previously singing “Almost There” from The Princess and the Frog.

Foster also made quite the impression on the judges. After performing “The Bare Necessities,” Carrie Underwood commented, for example, “You took a fun song and made it your own. It was just a good time!”

Luke Bryan also shared, “You’ve got ’em right where you want ’em. You’ve got a thing, you’ve got a look, you’ve got a sound.”

Some Fans Have Been Wondering About John Foster’s Age & Where He’s From

Following his performances, it was revealed that Foster made it into the season’s Top 3. Behind the scenes, however, Foster has been dealing with rumors and questions about this personal life.

This has included rumors and misconceptions about his age and where he’s from. Taking to Facebook, Foster recently shared that some people thought he was older than he really was.

At the time, Foster explained in the post that, “I am 18 years old.” Reportedly, some sources claimed he was slightly older, with some reporting him as 24.

In addition, Foster also had to address misconceptions about where he was from. At the time, he noted, “I was born and raised in Louisiana. My hometown is Addis, LA. I’m not from Benton, Kentucky (I’ve never even been to Kentucky, but I hope to visit someday).”

Reportedly, some stories also claimed Foster was related to another country singer. As he explained, “I’m not related to Dwight Yoakam, nor am I currently signed under any record label (there was some misinformation that Dwight Yoakam signed me under Sugar Hill Records).”

At the time, Foster shared with fans some clues that could help them learn what’s true about him and what isn’t. As he finished the post, “If you see something about me that’s not from my page (with the blue checkmark), there’s a chance that it may not be true!
