Tracker Season 3 May See Some Cast Changes

In the Tracker Season 2 finale, viewers got more information on who pushed Colter Shaw’s father to his death. It was Otto Waldron. Furthermore, he learned that his mother, Mary Dove Shaw asked for Otto’s help. What does this all mean?

This is a game changer for the CBS series. Moreover, this could disrupt how Colter does his business in Season 3. The series showrunner, Elwood Reid, recently spoke to US Magazine about Season 3. He seems determined to mix things up a big in the upcoming season so that they don’t “fall into complacency.”

Firstly, they may change the main supporting cast. “One of the challenges in Season 3 is going to be reconfiguring the team and figuring out what the team looks like.”

I don’t want the show to be phone a friend every week. I think that gets old and Justin is always challenging me on that. He’s like ‘ Do we need to do this? Do I need to call Bobby all the time? Can I do this?

Writers Got Backlash For Bobby’s Absence

One details that will certainly come into consideration is how the fans react to character changes on Tracker. Elwood Reid admitted there was backlash when Eric Graise was not in six episodes. He seemed to indicate that this was due to “actor availability.” However, as the “show evolves,” they are going to play with “team dynamics.”

Tracker Guest Stars Will Return

The upcoming Tracker Season 3 will see the return of some familiar faces. That includes Sofia Pernas as Billie Matalon, Jensen Ackles as Russell Shaw, and Melissa Roxburgh as Dory Shaw. Roxburgh, whose series The Hunting Party just got renewed, and Ackles are both super busy actors.

However, Roxburgh would like to see a Shaw sibling reunion. That may be a difficult feat for the series, yet worth the work. As Colter continues to gather more clues about their father’s death, a reunion could be explosive. Also, Jennifer Morrison should be returning as Lizzie Hawking.

Lastly, Justin Hartley has suggested that it is possible Colter Shaw will be on the run from some bad guys in Season 3. That could mean communication is cut from his regular team, and he will be using all of his resources to figure things out by himself. The possibilities are endless.

“Ontological Shock” – When Colter suddenly disappears during his search for a missing father, Reenie recruits his brother, Russell (Jensen Ackles), for help, on the CBS Original series TRACKER, Sunday, Oct. 20 (8:30-9:30 PM, ET/PT) on the CBS Television Network, and streaming on Paramount+ (live and on-demand for Paramount+ with SHOWTIME subscribers, or on-demand for Paramount+ Essential subscribers the day after the episode airs)*.
