‘RHONY’ Canceled? Andy Cohen Addresses It’s Fate
Has RHONY officially been canceled by Bravo after fifteen seasons on air? It was not part of the network’s renewal announcement, along with RHONJ, which has been under speculation. So, is New York done for good? Andy Cohen addressed the show’s fate. Keep reading for further details.
Andy Cohen Addresses Fate Of RHONY
After Season 13 of RHONY, the show’s future was up in the air. They had some alleged controversy with OG Ramona Singer, and a reunion could not even be filmed. Bravo had to figure out what to do with the long-running hit series, so they opted for a complete reboot. A whole new cast was brought in while fan favorites headed to St. Barths for RHUGT Legacy. Although the reboot was watched and gained somewhat of a following, many fans longed for the good old days and the former cast. Even Bethenny Frankel weighed in and said that the show was missing something.
Some hoped that they would bring in OGs to the reboot for some spice, but that has not happened. Then, Bravo revealed all of the shows that had been renewed and four new series coming to the network. RHONY was off that list for Season 16, so many believed it was the end of an era. Andy Cohen has jumped in with a status update, and it appears the show may still have some life left:
“This is a cute story—except it’s not cancelled.”
He stated this after the rumors flew that the show was over. A Bravo spokesperson seemed less confident in their statement:
“Nothing is official. The show hasn’t been cancelled.”
Finally, RHONY insider had this to say about the show’s fate:
“We’re trying to figure that show out. We want to figure it out. We think there’s still life in it.”
The cast has been actively filming for Season 16, however, Brynn Whitfield has not been a presence. She seemed to struggle last season, and fans thought she was done. Yet, she appears not to be going anywhere despite not filming with some of the cast.
Is It Really NOT Over?
After fans heard the speculation that RHONY had been axed, did they believe what was circulating? Just because it was not a part of the 2025 renewals did not mean it would not be back down the line. Summer House star Lindsay Hubbard has been seen with the cast of New York, and many are wondering if she is joining Season 16. Regardless, many do not think the reboot is over just yet:
- am i the only who doubts this show is cancelled? the show didn’t get renewed for 2025 (just like rhoa didn’t get a 2024 renewal). i think page six just took it out of context.
- It probably just means that it won’t be airing in 2025, which makes sense since they haven’t even started filming yet. I expect there’ll be a minor reboot and that’ll be the last chance it gets.
- I don’t think they know what to do with NY.
- It should have been cancelled two seasons ago. If they didn’t do it then, I doubt they’ll have the sense to put it out if it’s misery now.
So, it appears that most fans do not think the show has been canceled just because it was not on the renewals list. However, they do not seem to care for the cast and think it is on life support.
