‘American Idol’ Fans Call Out Singers’ ‘Cursed’ Song Choices
American Idol fans are trying to figure out how some very talented singers have gone home. Some feel like viewers got it wrong and should have sent home other performers. As they discuss on social media and try to figure out what went wrong, many are blaming their exits on ‘cursed’ song choices. What are they talking about? Keep reading to get all the details.
Are Cursed Song Choices Sending American Idol Favorites Home?
American Idol fans are trying to figure out why so many fan favorites are getting sent home. Obviously, everyone has their own favorites but after one of the recent eliminations, fans are speculating.
On social media, fans are discussing the eliminations and wondering if they are making bad song choices. In fact, some even think the songs they are choosing are ‘cursed.’ What are they all saying?
One fan pointed out their theory about contestants choosing cursed song titles. The speculation comes after Mattie Pruitt was eliminated. The OG poster said,
- “Two weeks in a row now, a contestant has sang a song called “Home” with lyrics about wanting to go home, and they’ve been eliminated. So I guess the question now is, is there a Disney song called “Home” that John can sing tomorrow night?”
Other fans began to chime in and agree with the OG poster. Here are some of their comments”
- “Who here is old enough to remember the real curse of “Any Man of Mine”? 🤣🤣”
- “I’m old enough to remember the “You Keep Me Hangin’ On” and “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” curses lol”
- “And Mattie’s first song said “I have to say goodbye”!”
Some fans were very entertained by the post but all defended John, saying he is very, very good. Others just laughed and said they love the observation. Someone pointed out that they think America got it wrong and Thunderstorm Artis should have been eliminated before Mattie Pruitt. Another fan noted they hope the show isn’t rigged.
Down To The Top 5
American Idol is already down to the top 5 contestants. The night began with seven remaining performers. By the end of the night, they were already down to five.
Gabby Samone and Mattie Pruitt were both eliminated on Sunday night. The five remaining finalists left standing are John Foster, Breanna Nix, Slater Nalley, Thunderstorm Artis and Jamal Roberts.
These five will perform for Disney Night Part 2 on Monday night’s episode.
After the latest eliminations, fans are saying they think some of the judging was unfair. Many think that Slater Nalley and Gabby Samone’s singing errors should have been pointed out if they were going to single out one of them.
Judges only criticized Slater for his flub during his performance, which many felt was a sound issue anyway. Gabby missed one of the lines and the judges did not call her out for it at all. Regardless, she went home while Slater remained safe.
Who do you think will win this season of American Idol? What do you think about the song curse theory?
