‘Live’ Audience Turns On Mark Consuelos For Robbing A Mom
Live with Kelly and Mark recently came out with a special Mother’s Day episode with fans just ahead of the holiday weekend. During the event, however, Consuelos got in trouble following an encounter with a guest. The moment also reminded a few fans about a previous time Consuelos got in trouble on the show.
Live With Kelly And Mark Was Celebrating Mothers Ahead Of Their Special Day
In 2023, Consuelos became Kelly Ripa’s regular co-host on Live with Kelly and Mark. The two have been married since 1996, famously having met as co-stars on All My Children. They also shared three children together.
One prominent segment on the show is the “Stump Mark” contestant. Contestants call in and give Consuelos two statements about themselves. One is true and the other is false, and Consuelos has to guess which is which.
Recently, Live with Kelly and Mark hosted a Mother’s Day special on Friday, a few days ahead of the holiday. As part of the daily “Stump Mark” segment, Consuelos already poked fun at the game’s theme.
Consuelos spoke to an offscreen producer, saying, “Okay, so, Gelman, so I have to beat a mom today?” Before the game started, Ripa also warned her husband, “If you rob this deserving mom of a mug and a T-shirt on Mother’s Day, you’re pretty much a monster.”
A woman named Laura Mallon called in as the day’s contestant. Her first statement claimed that she and her sister-in-law both had children born on their respective birthdays. She then claimed she and her twin brother were born on their mother’s birthday.
This Wasn’t The First Time Mark Consuelos Has Gotten In Trouble Over The ‘Stump Mark’ Segment
After taking a minute to decide, Consuelos correctly guessed that the first statement was the true one. While he was happy, this meant Mallon wouldn’t win a Mother’s Day-themed prize.
Mallon then asked, “Are you getting booed?” This proved to be true. Despite this, Consuelos assured, “You know what? I don’t care! I’m back! It’s a game!”
Mallon was given another chance to win a prize on the show during the trivia round. However, she lost this game, too.
This isn’t the first time that Consuelos has gotten in trouble thanks to the “Stump Mark” segment. Back in March 2024, as noted by People, he went up against a New Jersey firefighter, Joe Delorme.
As with the recent Mother’s Day special, Ripa issued her husband a warning. At the time, she shared, “Let me just say this. I’m going to say something right now. If you rob Joe of this mug and t-shirt, you, sir, are a monster.”
Consuelos also correctly guessed which statement was true, costing Delorme a prize, causing the audience to boo him. Ripa then teased, “How the audience has turned on you!”
