Apparently, she’s also been getting a lot of comments and messages shaming her for using filters on the social media app. But the reason for that is more than just vanity.
She went live on Instagram Story to share about a medical condition she’s been dealing with. In a follow-up slide, she thanks fans for watching the live. Clare Crawley said it was hard to share something so personal with fans. However, “living without shame or embarrassment or wanting to hide behind a filter is so liberating,” she wrote.

She Explains Difference Between Eczema & Topical Steroid Withdrawal
Clare Crawley has shared many parts of her life with the public since she was a contestant on The Bachelor. Viewers watched her try to find love on multiple dating shows. She eventually found her match in Ryan Dawkins. They welcomed a daughter in 2024 via surrogacy.
But the reality TV personality has been quietly dealing with a medical condition that she finally felt ready to let the world in on. According to Clare Crawley, she suffers from a skin condition called Topical Steroid Withdrawal that makes her skin flaky and red. She posted about it on her main feed after revealing it on Instagram Story.
One fan tried to helpfully suggest coconut oil or creams used for eczema. Clare Crawley politely shut the suggestions down and explained more about Topical Steroid Withdrawal (TSW.)
She said that her skin isn’t just dry and itchy. It’s inflamed because it’s in withdrawal from the steroid creams she used to use. She added that eczema treatment creams can make the skin condition worse. She was initially using topical steroid cream to treat eczema. That’s how her skin became dependent on the steroid cream.

Clare Crawley stayed true to her desire to stop using Instagram filters. She shared a rare glimpse at how her skin looks without filters. The Bachelorette star shared a photo of her neck with flaky skin and deep red marks.
