Steve Harvey Reveals Being In Dark Place, Breaks Down On-Air
Steve Harvey is primarily known for being funny. After all, he’s made a career out of it as an actor, comedian, and even a game show host. However, Harvey recently reminded fans of his more sentimental side with an emotional moment during a television appearance.
Steve Harvey Recently Shared Emotional Moment With Fans
For many, Harvey is best known for hosting Family Feud. He is also known for hosting his own namesake talk show, sitcom, and even a court-based comedy, Judge Steve Harvey.
In his personal life, Harvey has been married three times and has seven children. In 2007, he married his third wife, Marjorie Bridges.

Harvey recently shared a throwback clip on the “Steve TV Show” YouTube channel, just ahead of Mother’s Day. As a description read, “Steve Harvey opens up with a tearful tribute to his wife Marjorie for Mother’s Day. From the moment he met her, he knew she was the one. This is one of the most heartfelt moments he’s ever shared.”
The clip appeared to be on Harvey’s eponymous talk show, with the Family Feud host saying he wanted his wife to help him honor mothers. However, he soon revealed he had an ulterior motive.
Harvey explained, “So, Marjorie’s here all week to help me pay tribute to mothers. But I have a confession to make. You’re really here so I can honor you.”
“I want to share some things with you, Marjorie… I wanted to tell you some things. And that from the moment I saw you when you walked into that comedy club that night and the first thing I said to you ever was, ‘I don’t know who you are, lady, but I’mma marry you one day. And it took me a long time. But I did it.”
Fans Have Also Shared Their Thoughts On The Mother’s Day Moment
“Truth be told I probably should have done [it] a long time ago. But I went off and I got stupid. I did some things… I’d like to say I had some regrets in my life but I needed everything to happen in this exact order because none of our children would be here today if we hadn’t gone our separate ways at that particular time. So it was all for divine purpose and order.”
Harvey went on to explain all that Majorie, who was in tears throughout the moment, had done for him. This including bringing “balance” and giving his children a home. He also highlighted her helping his son in school.
Steve continued, “I had stopped listening to music because I was in such a dark place, you know?I didn’t listen to music anymore as much as I loved music. I played it for a living on the radio, but I lost it. You gave all that back to me.
Steve explained more that Marjorie had done from him, from helping him to enjoy his fame to getting him to travel. He shared, “You’ve made me the happiest man I’ve ever been. I’m by far without a doubt the, I don’t wanna say lucky. I am the most blessed man.”
With the clip shared on social media, fans have touched on the emotional moment. This had also been the case with earlier releases of the scene. Some comments included:
- “I love how Steve Harvey has always been transparent. Not afraid to let the public ‘see’ him.”
- “A real man is ok with telling the whole world that he has a great woman. I commend Steve Harvey.”
- “This is why the world loves Steve Harvey. A man’s man. A humble God fearing man.”
