Has American Idol host Ryan Seacrest been sued over a gambling scam? Fans have always loved and appreciated Ryan for his honesty, kindness, and transparency. So, what happened with gambling, and who is suing him? Keep reading for further details.

Ryan Seacrest Sued Over Gambling Scam?

For decades, Ryan Seacrest has been the host of American Idol. He is also a Jack of all trades, hosting his radio show, co-hosting Live with Kelly, and now, helming Wheel of Fortune. When Pat Sajak announced that he was leaving after four decades, Ryan was chosen to take over, which was somewhat controversial. Viewers were torn about whether or not he was too mainstream and had done too much. They thought someone new or different might be a good option, but he has since won viewers over. Of course, he can never be Pat, but he is putting his own spin on the hit game show.

Plus, Ryan is still the king of Idol, but now he is caught in some legal drama. Chumba Casino started to work with Ryan back in December 2023. It is an online gambling site with allegedly “one million players.” He has been tirelessly promoting the site for some time now, even recently appearing in ads. Unfortunately, Aubrey Carillo did not win as she thought she would, so she is suing Ryan. She stated that she has “lost money” due to the company’s “criminal scam.” Does this hold much water, given that gambling is just that, taking a gamble?

The American Idol host and Chumba’s parent company, Virtual Gaming Worlds, are being sued. They want it to shut down their California operations. Furthermore, the suit alleges that the online casino is in violation of California Penal Code 322, which:

“prohibits individuals from aiding or assisting in setting up, managing, or drawing any lottery, or selling or disposing of any ticket, chance, or share therein.”

Additionally, the suit states that Ryan Seacrest and the company are “profiting from gambling addiction.” The biggest argument is that only casinos prey on those who cannot stop gambling:

“The lack of proper safeguards often exacerbates financial and emotional stress, making it harder for individuals to regain control.”

The End Goal

At this point, the end goal is to cease operations in California. Plus, they want the American Idol host to no longer profit from his press. However, what do fans who have seen Ryan Seacrest’s promo have to say? It is a mixed bag, as some love the site while others think it does take their money:

  • Site has became a big joke taken every dollar from its players 🎯💥💥💥💥🤮💸💸💸💸💸💸
  • I haven’t won in a while but really cool games on it an depende on the hrs you will win I no cause I won several times
  • Since this guy have been promoting, Chumba have become trash
  • Chumba hasn’t been paying off none wht yall done to them

It appears that the blame is being placed on Ryan for taking down the site. Yet, people are still heading to it, and again, taking a gamble. He has not responded to the suit publicly, but hopefully it will come to an end soon.

Do you think that this person has a good case against Ryan, or is this a problem of their own making? Let us know and watch American Idol on ABC.
