Ozzy Osbourne Deteriorating Fast, ‘Modern Miracle’ To Do Final Concert
Ozzy Osbourne is set to give his final concert performance with Black Sabbath. However, this comes amid the star battling various health issues. Recently, both Ozzy himself, and another source, have been talking about the upcoming show.
Ozzy Osbourne Will Reunite With Black Sabbath For One Last Gig This July
Ozzy first rose to prominence as a founding member of the heavy metal band, Black Sabbath. He then went onto pursue a successful solo career starting in the 1980s. However, he has since reunited with Black Sabbath quite often over the years.
In the early 2000s, Ozzy started a new career as a reality television personality. He, his wife Sharon, and their children, Jack and Kelly, appeared in the reality series, The Osbournes, from 2002 to 2005.

Recently, it was announced that Ozzy would reunite with Black Sabbath once more with a show coming out July 5. Billed as their final gig, the “Back to the Beginning” concert will be held at Villa Park in Birmingham. The show will also feature metal selections from Metallica, Slayer and Anthrax. The concert will also raise funds for Cure Parkinson’s, Birmingham Children’s Hospital, and the Birmingham-based Acorns Children’s Hospice.
Speaking with The Guardian, Maynard James Keenan, frontman for the supporting act, Tool, shared some doubts about Ozzy’s ability to perform. He shared, “I’m cautious about saying, ‘Yeah! All in, he’s gonna do it.’”
“I don’t know what kind of modern miracles we’ll come up with to get him on stage to do the songs, but this is gonna be a challenge for them. So, I’m honoured to be a part of it, but I’m kinda preparing for the worst, but hoping for the best.”
For his part, Ozzy has endured various health issues in recent years, including a fall back in 2019 that impacted an earlier spinal injury. The same year also saw him diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease, something he publicly shared the following year.
Ozzy Also Shared With Fans On What To Expect For The Upcoming Summer Show
Ozzy himself also spoke with the publication about the toll these issues have taken on him. He shared, “You wake up the next morning and find that something else has gone wrong. You begin to think this is never going to end.”
According to Ozzy, the upcoming reunion was his wife Sharon’s idea. He then described it as “something to give me a reason to get up in the morning.”

Ozzy also shared how he was prepping for the show, both physically and vocally. He noted, “I do weights, bike riding, I’ve got a guy living at my house who’s working with me. It’s tough – I’ve been laid up for such a long time. I’ve been lying on my back doing nothing and the first thing to go is your strength. It’s like starting all over again.”
“I’ve got a vocal coach coming round four days a week to keep my voice going. I have problems walking. I also get blood pressure issues, from blood clots on my legs. I’m used to doing two hours on stage, jumping and running around. I don’t think I’ll be doing much jumping or running around this time. I may be sitting down.”
That said, Ozzy pointed out that the band wouldn’t be doing a full set. As he explained, “We’re only playing a couple of songs each. I don’t want people thinking ‘we’re getting ripped off’, because it’s just going to be … what’s the word? … a sample, you’re going to get a few songs each by Ozzy and Sabbath.”
