‘American Idol’ Fans Rebelling Against John Foster, Why?

John Foster has already made an impression on fans of American Idol. In fact, he recently had to speak out about stories about him on social media. However, while he’s got fans talking about him, some are already debating his eventual fate on the show.
Josh Foster’s Already Got Fans Of American Idol Talking
Foster has joined American Idol as a contestant during Season 23. He is a native from Addis, Lousiana, and is currently a college student.
Some of the songs Foster performed on the show include “Callin’ Baton Rouge” by Garth Brooks, “I Told You So” by Randy Travis, and “Jailhouse Rock” by Elvis Presley. He also famously performed an original song, “Tell That Angel I Love Her,” in dedication to a late friend, Maggie Dunn.
As previously reported, Foster recently took to social media to address various misconceptions about him. Reportedly, some stories claimed he was older than he was or that he was from Kentucky instead of Louisiana. At the time, he also denied stories that he was related to singer-songwriter Dwight Yoakam.
While these stories proved to be untrue by Foster’s own admission, it does prove that fans are talking about him. Recently, fans have taken to social media to talk about Foster’s eventual fate on the show, particularly if he will win the season.
One fan recently wrote, “Reaction to John Foster winning? Yes. Meh. No.” The original poster noted he might have a good chance, saying, “He is gaining popularity on Facebook.”
Fans Are Debating Whether They Would Mind Seeing Foster As The Season’s Finalist
Naturally, there were fans who thought John had a good change at winning, or at least having a good post-Idol career. That said, many fans agreed they liked Foster, and wished him the best in his career. However, many also expressed that he wasn’t necessarily their top choice meaning they technically didn’t want him to win.
That said, even fans who didn’t necessarily consider him their top choice admitted they would be fine with him winning. A few even admitted they didn’t think he was the most likely to win.

Of course, when it comes to a show like American Idol, it’s not impossible for a contetant to eventually win over the crowd. Some comments included:
- “Sorry but as long as Slater does not win I would be happy. I have enjoyed most of John’s performances. I would still rather see Jamal or Gabby or even Breanna win though.”
- “John is what is hot in music. Gabby and Jamal are not. I love both of them.. but I can see John having more post idol success. The country winners have done well. What has Abi done? I literally forgot her name until they mentioned her on the show.”
- “Well I be like yes because he’s from my state but then I will be pretty meh about it”
- “I would be happy to see him, Jamal or Gabby. They are all so talented and unique.”
- “I don’t understand the John hype. He is good there’s no denying that, but people putting him over Jamal and Gabby? The show does have the nickname, country idol, after all haha.”
- “He’s a country music singer who will capture idol’s east coast voters as most of that includes the Southern Belt.”
- “I’ve kind of assumed it was obvious he was winning, and then came online and was perplexed that Slater or Mattie are seen as likelier.”
- “I don’t think he will win. Slater is getting some of the country vote as well and is a little better than John imo.”
- “He’s the best rn.”

John foster is number one no dought if he does not win the show is fixed
John is amazing. I’m so happy he’s made it this far. I give him 10 votes every time. He is handsome, and his voice is a very good country, not too much. Some try too hard to be country and overdo it.
Last night I was mesmerized when Thunderstorm sang When We Were Young.
