‘American Idol’ John Foster Breaks Silence On Lies About Him

John Foster has really got American Idol fans talking since appearing on the show. However, not everything fans are saying about the singer are entirely accurate. Since then, Foster himself has taken to social media to explain what’s true and what isn’t about him.

John Foster Famously Performed An Original Tribute Song On American Idol

Foster is a college student and a native of Addis, Louisiana. Auditioning in Nashville, he made it on the show performing “Don’t Rock the Jukebox” by Alan Jackson and “Goodbye Time” by Conway Twitty.

Since then, Foster has performed “Callin’ Baton Rouge” by Garth Brooks, “Jailhouse Rock” by Elvis Presley, and “I Told You So” by Randy Travis. He also once performed his own original song on the show, “Tell That Angel I Love Her,” which he had dedicated to a late friend, Maggie Dunn.

As he appears on a popular competition series, it would only be natural for fans to be talking about Foster. However, some of this might be less than true. Since then, John himself has recently taken to social media to set the record straight about some things being said about him.

In a post on Facebook, Foster shared, “For the sake of all of my family (followers) getting to know me better, I’d like to clear up some misinformation that has been spreading on Facebook.”

Foster started out addressing age discrepancies. He mentioned he was younger than some people think he is, noting, “I am 18 years old (not 24).” Foster’s age being 18 was also confirmed on ABC’s American Idol‘s website.

Foster Also Shared Some Advice So Fans Can Tell What’s True & What’s False

Foster then addressed misconceptions about his hometown. The crooner shared, “I was born and raised in Louisiana. My hometown is Addis, LA. I’m not from Benton, Kentucky.” He had no ill will towards the state, however, as he added, “I’ve never even been to Kentucky, but I hope to visit someday.”

Following this, Foster wanted to put a rumor to rest alleging that a famous relative got his a record deal. He shared, “I’m not related to Dwight Yoakam, nor am I currently signed under any record label (there was some misinformation that Dwight Yoakam signed me under Sugar Hill Records).”

Foster ended the post by telling fans what could help them determine what’s true and what’s false around him. He shared, “If you see something about me that’s not from my page (with the blue checkmark), there’s a chance that it may not be true!”

    Do you sing any Don Gibson songs? Or even John Denver tho those may not fall under country songs?
