Bravo Planning ‘Wife Swap’ Show With ‘Real Housewives’?
Bravo fans may have a new obsession soon. Rumors swirl that the network is planning a Wife Swap show with some of the Real Housewives stars. Keep reading to find out more about the rumor and who is allegedly starring in the first season.
Wife Swap Aired On ABC
Before Bravo made its name with reality TV shows, ABC had some of the most popular non-scripted content. One of those shows was Wife Swap. The show plucked wives from one family and switched them with a wife from another family. For one week, the new wife laid down the rules for her new family.
The show aired from 2004 until 2010. It was canceled after six seasons. A spinoff featuring celebrities premiered in 2012. Celebrity Wife Swap had four seasons before it was canceled in 2015. Some of the celebrity swaps included soap stars Ronn Moss (Bold & Beautiful) and the late Tyler Christoper (GH, Days,) and Bachelor stars Sean Lowe and Jason Mesnick.

Rebooted By Paramount
In 2018, it was announced that CMT was rebooting Wife Swap. However, the reboot ended up airing on the Paramount Network. It premiered in 2019. The first season of the reboot had ten episodes. The reality show was renewed for a second season with 20 episodes.
The reboot was canceled in 2020 after the second season. At the time, Paramount was moving away from TV shows to movies. But obviously those plans changed after the success of Yellowstone.
Bravo Planning Wife Swap Show With Real Housewives?
Wife Swap may get another life with a twist. There’s a rumor online that a new Bravo show is in the works that would swap the wives of Real Housewives stars. The gossip was sent anonymously to Bravo & Cocktails. The show is allegedly filming this summer.
The Real Housewives of New York star Jill Zarin starred in a Season 3 episode of ABC’s original Celebrity Wife Swap. According to the insider, there are four confirmed names for the new Bravo show.
The source claims the four names attached to the Housewives Wife Swap show so far are Melissa Gorga (RHONJ, Wendy Osefo (RHOP,) Emily Simpson (RHOC,) and Angie Katsanevas (RHOSLC.)
Bravo fans took to social media to express how much they didn’t like the idea.

- “We need new housewives cities. Stop trying these random show ideas, it’s obvious they don’t work 95% of the time”
- “That would be so boring! All the housewives are too old in the sense all are kids are old to make something like that entertaining.”

- “It’s like they’re actively trying to tank the network cuz wha?”
Bravo has yet to respond to rumors of a Wife Swap-type Real Housewives spinoff. However, the network is premiering a new show this summer. Next Gen NYC follows several kids from The Real Housewives as they try to start their careers in NYC. The show premieres on Bravo on Tuesday, June 3, 2025.
