Bringing Up Bates: Papa Bill’s Most Recent Health Issue
Papa Bill made headlines last year after several family members came over to South Carolina to check on his condition. It was revealed that the Bringing Up Bates star was suffering from symptoms of dementia. Carlin even went emotional when she had to introduce herself to her grandfather again after he forgot who she was. But despite the symptoms, Papa Bill remained cheerful. But many fans have been worried about him since then, as he may suffer from something irreversible soon.
Fans Think Papa Bill Passed
Some Bringing Up Bates fans on social media reacted to the Bates family’s recent social media post featuring a throwback photo of Papa Bill. The photo includes a sentence that says, “When we say goodbye,” making many people think Papa Bill may have passed away. However, Lawson later clarified in the comments section that it was a song he made as a tribute to Papa Bill, confirming that his grandfather is still alive.

Bringing Up Bates: Mama Jane Is Also Going Through A Health Crisis
Aside from Papa Bill, Mama Jane is currently recovering from a cancer scare. Kelly Jo Bates previously asked for prayers as Mama Jane undergoes weeks of radiation treatment. According to the Bringing Up Bates star, her mother-in-law has been a warrior, but she gets weak whenever she undergoes the treatment. She added, “We are always so grateful for the outpouring of love & prayers that y’all give when they have needs. So thanks in advance for lifting her up! She’s very precious to all of us! 💗” Members of the Bates family have also been back and forth to South Carolina to watch over Mama Jane and Papa Bill.
