Baylen’s Story
Fans of Baylen Dupree got to know her on social media before her show even aired. Baylen isn’t afraid to share the reality of Tourette’s Syndrome and she opens up about it on her show and TikTok. She is known for cussing as she is talking and having various tics. In this first season of the show, Baylen moved out to live with her fiancé Colin Dooley, and they even got engaged.
Baylen Dupree Talks Being Suicidal
On Tuesday, April 22, Dupree, her fiancé Colin Dooley and her parents appeared at an FYC panel event where Baylen opened up. It turns out that things got really dark for her at one point in her life. Things do seem to be looking up though. Here is what Baylen Dupree revealed:
“I was embarrassed of who I was. I was in therapy four days a week. I didn’t want to be alive. I had to drop out of college because my other conditions got too bad. I looked at my parents and I said, ‘I got to go’ … They came, and they got me.”
The good thing is that Baylen is doing a lot better now. She can control her tics more and is living her life. She is even living with Colin and not with her parents, which is a huge step. This was all four years ago, when things were going so rough for her. Now, things are really looking up. When talking about the show, she shared that it is “just a small glimpse of how hard my life was four years ago compared to what it is now. It’s 30 seconds of four years of my life. I would say that small little fraction doesn’t even add up to the disaster of emotions and confusion and hopelessness.” It sounds like the show would have been totally different had it been filmed years ago.
