In a post shared on X, as noted by E! Perhaps in my self centered mess I felt it was my fault that I showed him those dirty magazines when he was 6 and then we acted out what we saw.”

“My dad had playboy magazines. But the magazines I found in the top of my moms closet were different.”

Towards the end, West made the admission, “My name is Ye and I sucked my cousins dick till I was 14.” At this time, West has not identified his cousin.

A few fans also shared sympathy towards the cousin. As one fan noted, “I feel for the cousin as this is now out in the open, and if people know who the cousin is then he’s going to get bullied. But Kanye didn’t think about that.” As a few commenters noted, some fans pointed out the lyrics suggested the cousin was younger than West.

Another noted, “His cousin is in prison for life for murdering a woman. He’s going to get much worse than bullied now that this is common knowledge.”

The story also notably became a topic of discussion on The Breakfast Club. At the time, radio host Charlamagne Tha God shared, I want Kanye to go get help. If he needs help, he needs to go get help. He’s got all the resources, he’s had all of the money, he’s got all of the access to the best help. Go get help. Until he does that, everything I see him do and say just seems like a publicity stunt to me.”

Ultimately, many commenters shared mixed feelings over the admissions. Some were in disbelief, while others tried to make sense of the story. A few comments included:

  • “Idk how anyone could laugh at this. This is childhood trauma not to be taken lightly. I love you dude and I appreciate your vulnerability always”
  • “I think this takes EXTREME courage. I work with men in recovery and this type of act/experience is more common than people would think. Holding it in often eats people alive to the point of extreme self harm or even the ultimate sacrifice. ‘The truth will set you free someday.'”
  • “That’s so hard to read, I can’t imagine how Kim and the kids must feel if this is true.”
