Dancing With The Stars Renewed And Names First Celebrity
Dancing With the Stars alums teased all day that a big announcement was coming. Late Tuesday afternoon, the big reveal was made that the popular dancing competition has been renewed for another season.
The show went even further and already gave fans something exciting to look forward to. They revealed who the first confirmed celebrity contestant will be. Who is it?
The first celebrity confirmed to be hitting the dance floor this fall is none other than Robert Irwin. He is the son of the late Steve Irwin, who was known for his brave interactions with animals in the wild. Robert’s sister, Bindi Irwin, also competed on DWTS in Season 21. In fact, she and pro dancer Derek Hough took home the Mirrorball Trophy.
Now, Robert will get a chance to do the same. Of course, his pro dance partner has not been chosen yet, but no doubt it will be someone phenomenal.
Robert attended the event, which announced him as the first celebrity dancer for the upcoming season. The wildlife conservationist said his sister Bindi, competing and winning, inspired him. He said one day he wanted it to be him up there. His dream is coming true.
Robert said, “I cannot tell you what a privilege, what an honor it is to be joining this season.” Irwin attended the event shirtless with a snake around his neck.
Robert is known not only for being Steve Irwin’s son but also for his own accomplishments. He is known for starring in the reality show Crikey! It’s the Irwins. He also co-hosted the Australian edition of I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here!
