She was looking after Mama Jane and Papa Bill in South Carolina after she experienced severe pain. It was then discovered that she had a kidney stone, which had turned septic.
According to the Bringing Up Bates star, the doctors told her that she would’ve died if she had waited for another day. Members of the Bates family also came over to the hospital. Many of them even bawled seeing their mother lying on the bed. Kelly Jo even thought that she was in her final moments when she saw some of her daughters crying, especially Carlin.
