American Idol judges have revealed how they decide who they are going to cut from the show. The judges recently had to make some difficult decisions. They had to cut the Top 20 down to the Top 14. They got to save some of the contestants, but six had to be sent home. They had to pick from the bottom ten. How did they get to this decision? Keep reading to find out more about this situation.

American Idol recently secured the Top 14 contestants. They had it narrowed down to the Top 20. However, they had to narrow it down even more. 10 got to go through thanks to America’s vote. However, they did have a bottom 10. The judges then had to pick four of the contestants to save and send through to the next round. However, they had to send home six contestants. The most shocking elimination was Baylee Littrell, who is the son of Brian Littrell, a Backstreet Boys star. However, the competition has to keep going regardless of whether they want to eliminate contestants or not.

Judges Reveal How They Decide Who To Cut

Carrie Underwood, Luke Bryan, and Lionel Richie have revealed how they decide who they are going to cut. Carrie said:

“My brain was almost like: ‘Six! I can’t do it!’ We were pretty much aligned; there were a couple of concessions that had to be made, but all in all I think we’re happy with how it turned out, other than six people had to go home, which is a huge jump.”

Luke then added that they had to be quick with their decisions. Also that there were two contestants; all three agreed they needed to save. The other two had to be discussed. However, the quicker the better. This was Carrie’s first time having to do an elimination,n and it is safe to say it was not as easy as she expected.

It seems that they have to make hard decisions quickly. Even though they do not want to, it is a part of the job. Carrie had a hard time doing this. They revealed that it is easy when they agree. However, there are always a couple of contestants they have to talk through and decide on. If one of the other judges is fighting for a contestant, the others have to listen and sometimes give in.
