Jason Tartick Gets New Pup After Dog Drama With Ex, Kaitlyn Bristowe
Jason Tartick was in a relationship with Kaitlyn Bristowe for four years before splitting in 2023. During their relationship, they adopted two golden retrievers together, Pinot and Ramen. The former couple initially settled on a shared custody agreement where they’d each get the dogs for a set amount of time each month.
However, Kaitlyn revealed that as time went on, the dogs became agitated by constantly being shuttled back and forth. She ultimately decided to keep the dogs at her house all the time, but was open to her ex visiting whenever he wanted.
Jason Tartick posted on Instagram several times about missing his furry companions. He took to social media in March to reveal that he adopted a new dog. The reality star adopted a golden retriever from a shelter in Nashville.
He later revealed that he named the pup Teddy, which really triggered his ex. Kaitlyn Bristowe claimed that was the name she planned to use if she ever had kids.
Bachelorette Alum Says Sad Goodbye To New Dog Teddy
Just six weeks after adopting Teddy, Jason Tartick had to say a sad goodbye. He took to social media to reveal that he was sending the dog away for a month for training. In a candid Instagram post, the Bachelorette star said that Teddy is sometimes reactive when he sees other dogs, cars, and people.
He thought the best thing he could do as a dog owner was to get Teddy trained to help the pup cope with the triggers. Due to his busy schedule, the reality star decided to enlist help to train the dog.

Fans Blast Him For It
A lot of Jason Tartick’s social media followers praised his decision to send Teddy for dog training. However, some Bachelor Nation fans called Jason out for it.
- “Wow, four weeks is a really long time. Most I’ve heard of are typically 2-3 weeks and the owner comes in towards the end to work on the training. I hope it’s because Teddy genuinely needs this level and length of training and not just Jason being a lazy dog owner.”
- “Board and trains rarely work. Sounds like he just doesn’t want to fulfill the commitment he made as a pet owner to train his own dog.”
- “It’s what lazy people do to train their dogs”
- “I always thought it was the owner to best train the dog so they build that bond? This is so weird”
- “Does EVERYTHING need to be an Instagram post?? I dont understand “influencer” culture.”
As Jason Tartick said, Teddy is a good dog, he just needs some behavioral training. Do you think the Bachelorette star is doing the right thing by sending the dog away or should he train Teddy himself? Sound off in the comments.
