At the recent upfront programming event, Hallmark announced how many movies they will feature in their 2025 Countdown To Christmas programming. This is in addition to Mistletoe Murders, and another holiday limited series. Here is the latest news on the holiday programming Christmas movie fans can look forward to watching.
How Many Movies Will Hallmark Release For Countdown To Christmas 2025?
At the recent upfront event, Hallmark announced how many Christmas movies they will make in 2025. According to Adweek, the magic number is 40. Hallmark Media EVP of Ad Sales and Digital Media, Ed Georger shared that Hallmark is making “nearly” 100 original movies. Most importantly, 40 will be holiday movies that will air during the 16th annual Countdown To Christmas. This holiday programming usually starts in mid-October and ends on the last day of the year.
Already, the network has promised over 4,000 hours of holiday programming across all of its channels including thestreaming channel Hallmark+.

Although there have been indications that several other Christmas movies have been made, Hallmark has only made one announcement. They have announced Holiday Touchdown: A Bills Love Story. As with A Chiefs Love Story, this movie is in collaboration with the NFL. The Chiefs movie starred Tyler Hynes and Hunter King. However, they have not announced who will star in the new Bills movie.

In addition, the network will air the limited series The Twelves Dates of Christmas. This is the working title for the series that is based on the Jenni Bayliss book of the same name. The all-star cast includes Mae Whitman, Mary McDonnell, and Jane Seymour. This series takes place in London, over the holidays. In addition, Presence Of Love star Julian Morris is back on the network for this romcom series.
The other big series is Mistletoe Murders. The stars of this Chrismystery series, including Sarah Drew, Peter Mooney, and Sierra Marilyn Riley, have been filming the second season. The series originally streamed on the streaming channel. However, it appears that they will air the first season, and then the second season on the linear channels. New episodes will drop on the streaming channel the next day.

Finding Mr. Christmas Is Coming Back For Season 2
Fans of Jonathan Bennett’s Finding Mr. Christmas will be back for Season 2. This is the fun reality show where a group of men compete to star in a Hallmark Christmas movie. They have to do everything from chopping a tree to demonstrating they have perfected that infamous big kiss at the end of each romcom. Ezra Moreland won the first season and starred alongside Jessica Lowndes in Happy Howlidays.
Hopefully, the network will premiere the reality series on the linear platform. In 2024, the reality series was on the streaming channel and the movie premiered there, a few days before the Hallmark Channel premiered it. Furthermore, those who only watch the cable channel missed out on watching the reality series because Hallmark only aired a few episodes on the cable channel.
Now that everything that airs on the cable channel is available for streaming the next day, this would be an ideal opportunity to premiere the reality series and movie on the cable channel first. This way, all viewers can enjoy this journey.
