‘Wheel of Fortune’ Ryan Seacrest Dances With Player After Big Win
Winning big on Wheel of Fortune is naturally a happy moment for any contestant. Recently, one elated player was so happy with their win that it led to an impromptu dance with host Ryan Seacrest. A prominent musician was also on set to witness the event.
Wheel Of Fortune Was Recently Wrapping Up A Musical Week
This past Friday, April 11, a big event was coming to an end on Wheel of Fortune. It was the conclusion of the game show’s iHeartRadio week.
During the Friday episode, the week’s top three winners returned to compete with three famous singers, Jason Derulo, Jojo, and Andy Grammer. Grammer partnered with Andrew Goodman, Jojo was paired with Mekdes Getahun, and Derulo teamed up with Jay Tope.
On the show, host Ryan Seacrest noted that Tope was a good fit for Derulo. After the musician shared he had recently released a dance-heavy music video, Seacrest noted that Tope is also a dancer. This caused Tope to show off his moves on the show, as he moved his hips in a circle while moving his hands.
As noted by Kens 5, in his everyday life, Tope works as a high school English teacher and a coach for girls’ athletics at Lytle High School. Before his first appearance on the show, Tope shared on social media, “I watched Wheel of Fortune daily with my parents for years, and though they’re no longer here, I know they’ll be watching me on their favorite show.”
On the Friday show, Tope didn’t have such a great start, with the other contestants solving the first two toss-ups. However, Tope and Derulo correctly guessed the first puzzle, “All You Can Eat Sushi,” earning them for $4,000.
Jason Derulo Also Joined In The Dancing At The End
Tope and Derulo went on to solve the first two Triple Toss-Ups. They also solved the final puzzle, “Performing a Duet.” This brought them to a total of $12,350, which made them the night’s winners.
As they went into the Bonus Round, Seacrest teased Tope brought his wife and daughter along with him. Seacrest turned to Tope’s wife, noting, “You told me about his dancing, and you were right.” She chimed in, “Don’t encourage him.”

Notably, Tope didn’t win the Bonus Round during his first episode. This time, however, he and Derulo correctly solved a puzzle reading, “Moving Forward!” This brought Tope’s winnings to $69,350.
Tope began to get excited, hugging both Derulo and Seacrest. He then celebrated with his family. When Seacrest told him his total, the host repeated Tope’s earlier dance moves. Tope began to join in. Seacrest shared, “Yeah. There it is!” He then turned to Derulo, who also joined in, and said, “You make it look much better.”
