Tyra Banks Takes New Hosting Gig After ‘DWTS’ Disgrace
It’s been a few years since Tyra Banks hosted Dancing With The Stars on ABC. Now, she’s on a rival network with a brand new hosting gig.
It doesn’t appear to be a permanent role, but viewers agree Banks is in a much better position now than when she was on DWTS. Check out her latest television appearance.
Viewers Didn’t Think Tyra Banks Was A Good Match For Dancing With The Stars
Tyra Banks’ run on Dancing With The Stars didn’t last long. She made her debut as hostess back in Season 29 just after the network suddenly fired long-running host Tom Bergeron. Banks knew she had big shoes to fill after Bergeron’s departure.
But sadly, she never seemed to win over viewers. During her three-season stint on the ABC show, many viewers accused Banks of being self-absorbed. DWTS is supposed to be about dancing, but fans thought Tyra Banks took every opportunity to show off her latest outfits and often treated the ballroom as a runway.
Season 31 marked her final season as hostess. From then on, Julianne Hough and Alfonso Ribeiro have kept the show running.
Although Tyra Banks and DWTS weren’t a good fit, she does have a long resume featuring other hosting positions. Fans know her well from America’s Next Top Model and The Tyra Banks Show.
Perhaps a dance competition was simply the wrong format for the model. Can Tyra Banks win back fans in her latest role?
Tyra Banks Receives Plenty Of Praise For Her Today Appearance
As Today viewers saw, Tyra Banks recently joined Jenna Bush Hager as a cohost. However, the gig is likely just temporary. Banks and her family relocated to Australia shortly after her DWTS exit. While she still regularly conducts business in the United States, she admits she’s much happier in the Land Down Under.
“Day one with @tyrabanks: ✅ Tune in tomorrow for more fun! #jennaandfriends,” the official Instagram account captioned a video of Tyra on set.
“Tyra, I had the best time!” Jenna tells the model. “Will you come back tomorrow?”
“I am so back!” Tyra happily replies. “This is a happy place. Have you had fun? I had so much fun! I’m so happy, I had so much fun with you.”
The America’s Next Top Model judge offers Jenna a friendship bracelet before embracing her in a big hug. Afterward, the audience erupts in chanting Tyra’s name.

Today Viewers Go Wild For Jenna’s Latest Cohost
Fans might not have been very fond of Banks on Dancing With The Stars, but they overwhelmingly agreed that she’s a great fit for Jenna Bush Hager’s cohost.
