Diddy Brings In Hunter Biden’s Attorney To Take Lead

Sean “Diddy” Combs has a new lead attorney. As the criminal case grows near, Combs has shaken up his defense team and hired someone with a recent big-name defense to his name. He just signed Mark Geragos to lead his defense after representing Hunter Biden, Michael Jackson, and Chris Brown.
Here is what you need to know about Combs’s new attorney in his upcoming criminal trial.
Sean “Diddy” Combs Has New Defense Attorney
While Sean “Diddy” Combs has seen a lot of success lately in getting civil suits dropped or shut down, he has a bigger concern ahead of him. With the criminal trial possibly threatening life in prison, the former music mogul has signed a new face to lead his defense team in the trial.
Combs has hired Mark Gegaros as his new lead attorney. He represented Hunter Biden, the Menendez brothers, Chris Brown, Roger Clinton, Michael Jackson, and many more. He is an advisor on the case. His daughter, Teny Geragos, is also on the defense team.
Now, the Combs team plans to file paperwork allowing Mark to appear in court on his behalf (via Page Six). Combs pleaded not guilty to charges of racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking by force, fraud or coercion, and transportation to engage in prostitution.
Marc Agnifilo currently leads the defense team. Anthony Ricco, one of his six lawyers, quit the case in March after speaking to Agnifilo.
His comment when quitting seemed odd. “Although I have provided [Diddy] with the high level of legal representation expected by the court, under no circumstances can I continue to effectively serve as counsel for Sean Combs,” he said in the motion to remove himself from the case. He cited attorney/client privilege in the filing.
Who Is Mark Gegaros In Sean “Diddy” Combs’s Trial?
According to reports, the team will argue that the “Freak-Off” parties were not what prosecutors allege. They say there is “no evidence that anyone [involved] is incapacitated or under the influence of drugs or excessive alcohol consumption” and that there is “certainly no evidence of sex trafficking.”
It also appears the defensive team will use a racial defense. “No white person has ever been the target of a remotely similar prosecution,” the defense states.
Marg Geragos is a criminal defense attorney and managing partner of Geragos & Geragos in Los Angeles. He saw early success as one of the lead lawyers in two federal class action lawsuits against New York Life Insurance and AXA. Based on the Armenian genocide of over 1.5 million Armenians, he settled for over $37.5 million.
Geragos represented Winona Ryder after her shoplifting charges in 2001 and helped her get only three years of probation. He worked in the early stages of the Michael Jackson molestation case, but Jackson removed him as an attorney because he was handling too many cases at the same time.
Geragos helped get Roger Clinton Jr.’s alcohol-related charges completely dismissed. He also represented Chris Brown after the Rihanna assault. He helped get him probation, although Brown kept breaking the rules of the probation.
