‘GMA’ Michael Strahan Sends Warning To Guest
Michael Strahan gets to meet with all sorts of guests on Good Morning America. Recently, a certain exchange with one guest saw the football player turned television personality issue a bit of a warning. Notably, the show highlighted the exchange on social media, complete with a collage.
Michael Strahan Recently Talked Sports With A Guest On Good Morning America
Strahan is a former professional football player, known for playing with the New York Giants for 15 years. Since his retirement, he’s become well known as a television personality. This has included shows like The $100,000 Pyramid and Fox NFL Sunday.
Notably, Strahan is known for serving as a co-host on Good Morning America. In this position, he’s encountered a variety of notable guests. Strahan had been sharing co-hosting duties with George Stephanopoulos and Rebecca Jarvis, with Robin Roberts on break.

This past Monday episode, various famous guests appeared on the show. This included Viola Davis and Geno Auriemma, the Connecticut Huskies women’s basketball team’s head coach.
During the appearance, Auriemma got into a notable exchange with Strahan. While discussing Connecticut’s past season, Strahan congratulated the coach over the team’s recent victory over South Carolina.
Auriemma admitted that seeing the team defeat South Carolina during the regular season showed him what a “special team” it was. As he shared, “We grew. We just communicated more. We trusted each other more. It was fantastic.”

Strahan also took note of a hug Auriemma shared with star player Paige Bueckers following the win and his twelfth national title. The coach noted, “When you play your last game [and] you walk off the court, or the field, as a champion, knowing how much you put into it, and how much of yourself you’ve given…the emotions all just came pouring out.”
Strahan attempted to conclude the interview, once again sharing his congratulations. However, Auriemma wanted to sneak in a few last words: “Well, thank you, Michael, and I’d be remiss if I didn’t say, ‘Go birds.’”
Football fans likely recognized this as a nod to the Philadelphia Eagles’ Super Bowl win. While originally born in Italy, Auriemma notably grew up in Pennsylvania, coming to the United States as a young child.
Strahan tried to laugh things off, repeating, “Go birds.” He then asked, “You just had to throw that in there, didn’t ya?” It was at this point Strahan decided to offer a playful warning to the coach: “Alright, you know what, next time you come on, you win, if the Giants have won the Super Bowl, you better watch out.”
On Instagram, Good Morning America notably shared a college of subtitled screenshots sharing the exchange. As mused in the caption, “Once a Philly boy, always a Philly boy.”
