Alec Baldwin Blames Wife For Reality Show Flop, His Movie Career Ruined?
Does Alec Baldwin blame his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, for their reality series flopping? More so, is this the end of his movie career? Their reality show, The Baldwins, premiered Sunday, February 23rd, 2025, but it has been met with harsh criticism and dismal ratings. Is this Hilaria’s doing? Keep reading for further details.
Alec Baldwin Blames Wife For Reality Show Flop
There was no rhyme or reason for why Alec Baldwin and his family opted to do a TLC reality series. From the beginning, he and his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, flaunted their immense wealth. This included their place in New York City and the Hamptons. Moreover, they have two nannies for their seven children and a plethora of animals. It appears that The Baldwins came about to humanize Alec and bring empathy for him and his struggles. He was embroiled in a legal battle over the death of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins. She was accidentally killed on the set of Alec’s film, Rust.
Unfortunately, TLC viewers have not cared for the reality series since the premiere, and a lot has to do with his wife, Hilaria. She is someone that viewers could care less about as she has been deemed insufferable. Furthermore, she never stops talking, barely giving Alec a chance to get a word in. Viewers have taken to social media to express their disdain with Hilaria:
- Hilaria isn’t setting a good example as a role model with her personality!
- Hilaria’s voice is just painful to hear!!
- Hilaria… trying to use your ADHD as an excuse for how obsessively controlling you are! I’m completely not surprised Alec’s OCD has gotten worse !
- Sorry but Hilaria is a controlling b*tch. She just Loves hear herself talk.
Due to the show being so horrid, it does not appear there will be a Season 2. An insider had this to say about the reality series:
“TLC plans to burn through the eight episodes that have been shot and be done with the Baldwins.”

Alec feels that Hilaria did not present herself in a good light, thus all of the backlash.
The End Of His Career?
With The Baldwins failing, what does that mean for Alec Baldwin’s movie career? He has long been a successful actor, appearing in Beetlejuice, It’s Complicated, and Boss Baby. Furthermore, he was a staple on SNL which fans absolutely loved. Now, where does he stand in Hollywood? This reality series was an attempt to redeem his image and show him as a loving family man. Unfortunately, that never happened with Hilaria constantly putting herself front and center. The insider shared that the struggles between the couple could be the downfall of their marriage and his career:
“He sees his acting career going down the tubes. And those in his inner circle believe his marriage may go down right along with it. [Alec and Hilaria] are in big trouble. The tension between them is palpable.”
This series could have been a boost for his acting career as fans may have seen a different side of him. However, that did not happen, and only made things worse for his life in many ways. More so, viewers have called out Hilaria and Alec Baldwin’s daughter, Carmen, for having an attitude just like her mother. Finally, they do not care for it and are done with the family.

He’s not so bad, but she is just horrible!
Totally agree right from the beginning of show I found her to be overwhelming controlling & condescending with no empathy for what Alec Baldwin has been put through. It’s all about her.
Hillaria needs to shut up! She is a lot! He can’t get a word in! When he is in the scene and allowed to speak, then it’s interesting. When she’s doing her monologues-ugh! Shut up. Why don’t they allow the nannies to be filmed? Does she really think that we think she has no help? 🤣 And what is she doing to her ten year old daughter? Stop!!
I think Hilaria is not credible. She is most impressed with herself and it shows! Alec can not get a word in edgewise.
Carmen is a mini mom! They are going to have their hands full, in a year or two, if they don’t nip that preteen’s attitude in the bud!
I think his wife is a Bitch I really felt sorry for him. She thinks she is owed and for what she did not apply herself at all w her children he did more w kids than she did she had to be interviewing all the time. All I can say is I
hope he gets back on his feet he’s a great comedienne and great actor I hope Hollywood gives him another chance. Good luck Alec !
I have loved all his movies, but the reality show is another matter. His wife won’t let him talk. She is so controlling. I can’t believe he picked someone like her to marry. She probably talks through adult time late at night. Seven kids is another thing. She got a sugar daddy and she knows it. I love you Alec but you messed up.
I like her and I have always liked him. When they film these are just moments of there day.

Alec made a huge mistake marrying that wacky, weird, nasty woman. hilaria treats him as if he is a bumbling old goof, and makes him look as if he knows nothing and is just another older guy who is hen-pecked by a bossy wife. what were you thinking Alec having all those kids at your age, and Carmen the oldest of the seven kids is so much like her mother it is terrible. she talks to her father as if she is his boss and it is so obvious those kids are never disciplined at all. it seems as if hilaria encourages those kids to talk back to Alec and treat him like a fool, and he allows it. shame on you Alec for ruining your life with that harpy.
I watched the show because I was curious about Alec Baldwin, who and what he was all about. And to see how they were going to represent the shooting and his time during the trial. I did feel bad for him because you could tell it had definitely taken a toll.
However, his wife completely monopolized the show and I kept wondering why it seemed it was all about her. I found her to be condescending and belittling towards him many times and felt bad for him.
I feel it should have been him and his kids with her making occasional appearances. I also think it would have been interesting had they brought in some of his family and friends to appear in some of the shows too.
I wish there was going to be a season 2, but I don’t think I could handle more of her.
I agree with Beth’s comments but I also care about Alex as a person and father! His wife is so controlling and a narcissist person! I can’t imagine how he wound up with her, he seems like such a lovely person that wouldn’t get involved with such a woman😩
Hilaria, Hilaria, Hilaria… make it stop. Shake a can of pennies at her. And Carmen, 10 going on 30 and so disrespectful to her DAD! Sorry, I wasted time watching but it doesn’t get better. NO SECOND SEASON PLEASE!!
