Is Ken Jennings Planning A Big Move?
Ken Jennings is well-known to fans of Jeopardy!, both as a contestant and as a host. However, filming for the game show isn’t as easy as it seems for Jennings. This had led to some speculation that filming might drive Jennings to make a big move. An inside source has recently touched on the story.
Ken Jennings Went From Having One Of The Longest Winning Streaks On Jeopardy! To Becoming Its Host
Jennings first appeared on the 20th season of the game show back in 2004. During his run, he won 74 consecutive nights in a row, making for one of the show’s largest longest winning streaks.
Notably, in 2020, Jennings returned to the show as a producer. By 2023, he became the show’s sole host, after previously alternating with Mayim Bialik, and following the death of longtime series host Alex Trebek in 2020.
As noted by The U.S. Sun, however, while Jennings has a long history with the game show, filming isn’t necessarily easy for him. While Jeopardy! is based in Los Angeles, his family, including his wife and two kids, actually lives in Seattle, Washington.
Since November 2020, he’s had to fly to California to work on the show. While Jennings does have a small house in Los Angeles to accommodate him during filming, he primarily lives in Seattle.
Filming usually takes place on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Typically, the show films five games each day, with three in the morning and two in the afternoon.
An Inside Source Discussed Whether Ken Jennings Is Planning A Move To The Golden State
With having to constantly move from state to state, there is some speculation that Jennings could be planning a move to California. An inside source recently touched on the issue. As they shared, “Ken was honest about being away from his family being the hardest part of the job.”
“He said that despite how tough it is to be away, which only gets harder the busier his schedule was, he has no plans on moving to LA. He was adamant that his family has built a great life in Seattle they’re happy with. LA is not for them.”

The publication also noted that the flight takes place just under three hours. In addition, Jennings is already rather worldly. While he himself was born in Seattle, he notably grew up in South Korea and Singapore. He also notably graduated from Seoul Foreign School.
Jennings later returned to his home state to attend college. He initially attended the University of Washington and later transferred to Brigham Young University. It was at the latter school he met his future wife, Mindy. The couple wed in 2000 and share a daughter, Caitlin, and a son, Dylan.
