‘American Pickers’ Mike Wolfe Helps Fritz Family After Tragic Loss
Late last year, Mike Wolfe of American Pickers fame saw the loss of his friend and co-star Frank Fritz. In the following months, Wolfe has often spoken out about losing Fritz and the impact that he had. Recently, Wolfe even shared how he stays in contact with Fritz’s surviving loved ones.
Frank Fritz Was Mike Wolfe’s Original Co-Host On American Pickers
On American Pickers, Wolfe and a co-host travel around the United States in search of rare objects, all in the hopes of uncovering lost treasures. Wolfe’s co-host was originally Frank Fritz until 2022.
Tragically, Fritz has passed away on September 30, 2024. He was 60 years old at the time of his death. His cause of death was attributed to stroke complications connected to cerebral vascular disease. In addition, his death certificate also shared he had complications with aortic stenosis, which impacted blood flow.
Wolfe himself recently spoke about losing his friend and co-host during an interview with People. At the time, he shared that he still maintained contact with Fritz’s loved ones and helped them with their loss.
Wolfe shared, “We’ve all known each other for such a long time, Chris, and his brother, and Annette. I check in with them from time to time and see what’s going on, and if they have any questions in regards to some of the things that they’re coming across of his, I am able to answer those for them.”
Wolfe also shared how “hard” Fritz’s passing has been on his loved ones. He noted, “Frank always had a very small circle. He learned early in life that he didn’t need 20 acquaintances, he just needed three or four really good friends. And so he always led his life that way,”
Wolfe Also Talked About Fritz’s Passing In A Post On Instagram
Continuing to describe Fritz, Wolfe shared, “I mean, he was always a guy everybody knew. But he held onto his circle very close and was somebody that would do anything for anybody. So they’re all kind of stepping back and just trying to get through it themselves.”
As the publication noted, Wolfe previously shared the news of Fritz’s passing on Instagram back in October. At the time, he shared, “It’s with a broken heart that I share with all of you that Frank passed away last night.”

“I’ve known Frank for more than half my life and what you’ve seen on TV has always been what I have seen, a dreamer who was just as sensitive as he was funny. The same off camera as he was on, Frank had a way of reaching the hearts of so many by just being himself.”
As he finished the post, Wolfe noted, “We’ve been on countless trips and shared so many miles and I feel blessed that I was there by his side when he took one last journey home. I love you buddy and will miss you so much I know you’re in a better place.”
