‘Bachelorette’ DeAnna Pappas’ Attorney Responds To Arrest Allegations
Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas was arrested in February on allegations of domestic violence. Her ex-husband Stephen Stagliano had her arrested alleging she was drunk and being aggressive. The incident occurred while he was coming to pick up the couple’s two children. She was taken into custody and released later on a $20,000 bond. Now, over a month later, her attorney is speaking out about the arrest on DeAnna’s behalf. What did he say? Keep reading to get all the details.
Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas Breaks Silence On Arrest
After Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas was arrested, she never spoke out about the incident. However, media outlets gained access to the legal documents and statements which were shared with the public. At the time, records indicated that DeAnna said that during her time in police custody, she was never asked to do a drug or alcohol test despite that being one of the reasons Stephen Stagliano had her arrested.
When DeAnna was released, She voluntarily submitted to a drug and alcohol test which both came back with negative results.
Now, DeAnna shared a statement from her attorney on her Instagram Stories. The statement began by saying,
“On behalf of our client, Deanna Pappas, we wish to address recent public speculation and clarify the current legal status of matters stemming from an incident involving her former spouse. After a full investigation and review of video evidence, the assigned detective determined that Ms. Pappas was not the aggressor. No criminal charges were filed.”
The statement went on to say that in the best interest of her children, the restraining order she filed against her ex-husband Stephen Stagliano was dropped. It then noted that legal action would be taken against anyone who tried to distort the story.
Her attorney said,
“Any continued attempt to distort facts or interfere with the children’s well-being will be met with the appropriate legal response. Ms. Pappas remains committed to protecting her children from further trauma and maintaining their right to privacy, as recognized by law.”
The conclusion of the statement shares that they are asking the media to not post speculation and to keep the best interest of her children in mind. DeAnna will not be making further statements at this time.
What Led To The Arrest?
Former Bachelorette DeAnna Pappas was arrested after Stephen Stagliano accused her of domestic assault and being intoxicated. He wanted to smell her breath when he came to pick up the children. She refused and went back into her garage. He followed her and forcefully pushed the closing garage door back up.
She demanded he leave and he didn’t. DeAnna went back into the garage after hearing him allegedly stealing things and making noise. She said, “Stephen took his hands, grabbing me, and then forcefully shoved me. He pushed my back again.”
At that point, she went back into the house, locked the door, and waited for authorities to arrive. When police did show up, Stephen claimed DeAnna was assaulting him. DeAnna was then taken into custody on these allegations.
The couple separated in 2023 after being married for 12 years.
