Diddy Combs Gets Good News About Sexual Assault Lawsuit

Sean “Diddy” Combs faces life in prison if his criminal trial goes wrong for the former record producer. However, his civil lawsuits show that Combs might have a chance to get out because he has escaped several of these lawsuits without ever going to trial. The most recent one had an accuser backing out on the lawsuit and refusing to move forward.
Here is what you need to know about Sean Combs and his latest victory in his long-lasting legal problems.
Sean “Diddy” Combs Gets Out Of Another Civil Lawsuit
Sean “Diddy” Combs has been getting very lucky with some of his recent civil lawsuits. He has had more than one of the civil suits dropped without going to court. That happened again with a woman who decided to drop her lawsuit.

A New York judge dismissed a sexual assault lawsuit against Sean “Diddy” Combs after a Jane Doe refused to reveal her identity. The judge said she couldn’t pursue the case if she didn’t reveal her identity (via Variety). This was one of Houston attorney Tony Bizbee’s lawsuits against Combs in 2024.
The Jane Doe case accuses Combs of sexually assaulting her at a New York City party in 1995. She also claimed that he struck her when she rejected him. Buzbee filed a motion to continue the lawsuit in January. However, the courts say the “gravity of the charges” and “no evidence of specific and concrete harm… undermin[ed] her claim to proceed anonymously.”
The judge said Jane Doe had to reveal her name by March 20, or they would dismiss the case. According to Buzbee, Jane Doe didn’t feel comfortable revealing her identity.
“There is a lot of fear amongst these plaintiffs. I thus can’t blame her. These are tough cases and they are many times re-traumatizing for those who pursue them,” Buzbee said. “Each case stands on its own merit. This woman chose not to proceed and subject herself to the media circus and the perceived danger she felt. We have to respect that.”
Sean “Diddy” Combs Escaping Multiple Lawsuits
Since the Tony Buzbee lawsuits began, Sean “Diddy” Combs has escaped multiple civil lawsuits. Another man, an inmate, sued Combs for past allegations, and the judge said the statute of limitations had expired and the allegations had no basis.

Sean Combs’s attorneys said the Jane Doe case being dismissed is just the start. “This is now the second case brought by these attorneys against Mr. Combs that has been dismissed in its entirety,” his legal team said. “It will not be the last. For months, we have seen case after case filed by individuals hiding behind anonymity, pushed forward by attorneys more focused on media headlines than legal merit. The other claims, like the one dismissed today, also will not hold up in a court of law.”
Last week, a judge also said that another John and Jane Doe must reveal their identities by April 10 to continue the lawsuits. Judge Jennifer Rochon noted the cases were “substantively identical to declarations filed on the same day in other Doe v. Combs cases in this District involving different plaintiffs and facts.”
