‘Survivor 50:’ Will Carolyn Wiger Be A Castaway?
Survivor is currently in its forty-eighth season, but fans are already speculating on what Survivor 50 will be like. In particular, they are wondering just who will appear, especially previous Survivor alumni. In particular, one familiar face fans have been asking about is Carolyn Wiger. Recently, an insider has opened up on the issue.
Carolyn Wiger Was Previously On Survivor 44, & Recently Appeared On The Traitors
Survivor has been airing since 2000. The popular competition series recently premiered its 48th season back in February and is expected to wrap up this upcoming May.
That said, some fans already have their eyes set on Survivor 50. In particular, there is some speculation on who will appear during this milestone season.
Reportedly, one contestant fans have speculated about was Carolyn Wiger. She had previously appeared on Survivor 44, where she proved to be a credible threat.
During her time on the show, Wiger ultimately made it to the Final Tribal Council. However, she ended up finishing the game as the second runner-up. Yamil “Yam Yam” Arocho ultimately won the season, with Heidi Lagares-Greenblatt as first runner-up.
Following this, in 2024, Wiger started a podcast with “Let’s Get Tribal,” with Carson Garrett, who had been her ally on Survivor 44. In addition to recapping episodes, the two also occasionally speak with other Survivor alumni.
In 2025, Wiger would also join the cast of The Traitors during its third season. This put her alongside other Survivor alumni including Rob Mariano, Tony Vlachos and Jeremy Collins.
Wiger ultimately finished in eighth place on the show, being eliminated during the ninth episode. Carolyn and Carson also notably launched a spin-off podcast, “Let’s Get Treacherous,” focusing her time on The Traitors.
Recently, fans are wondering if Wiger will soon make her return to the Survivor series. According to The U.S. Sun, fans especially thought her appearance on The Traitors, and the boost in her popularity, would make her a fan-favorite for Season 50, which is believed to start filming this summer.
An Inside Source Also Hinted At A Reason Why Some Survivor Alumni Won’t Be Returning
However, a source speaking with the publication claimed that, while she was considered, that is no longer the case. As the source claimed, “Carolyn was told she had a spot on Survivor 50 but now it’s not happening.”
“It wasn’t signed yet but they verbally told her she would be on but just cut her. Without warning.”

The source noted there’s some speculation that appearing on another show might have actually hurt her chances, the opposite of what fans had hoped. As they shared, “[Wiger’s] upset mainly because of the reason. She fully believes the producers have a chip on their shoulder about Survivor players who go on to do other shows.”
“I mean, Jeff himself has even said that he has a problem with it. She feels she was done dirty and feels the producers need to get over it, people go on other shows all the time, it’s how they make money. They cannot be mad at their contestants for staying employed, it’s f**king ridiculous.”
“Carolyn wasn’t the only one cut, a few other players from more recent seasons also found out they didn’t make it.”
As the publication noted, Wiger herself also brought up the CBS shows during a recent Instagram Story. As she wrote, “Schedule just cleared up for the Summer. Does anyone have a contact at Deal or No Deal Island or Survivor Australia?” Notably, the caption appeared on a clip of her on The Traitors.
