Kelly Clarkson Throws Shade At Professional Football Team Owner

Kelly Clarkson is known for her career in music and hosting her own talk show, but she has often shown multiple interests over the years. Recently, the famous American Idol alum has shared some opinions about a professional football team’s owner. Notably, Clarkson was noted to be a longtime fan of the team and even has a bit of a history with them.

For many, Clarkson first came to prominence as the first season winner of American Idol. In addition to her career in music, Clarkson has been the host of her own eponymous talk show, The Kelly Clarkson Show, since 2019.

Clarkson recently spoke with Kylie Kelce on the Not Gonna Lie podcast. Notably, in addition to being a media personality, Kylie has been married to Jason Kelce, who spent 13 years with the Philadelphia Eagles, since 2018.

As noted by Men’s Journal, Clarkson shared her thought on some recent sports news. The talk show host noted, “I just read something with my sister and I guess Jerry Jones had said, ‘Well, now is the time.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, Ok. It was different from the last ‘now’s the time.’ Very different from last year’s time, which was also the time.”

Jerry Jones is the owner, president, and general manager of the Dallas Cowboys, of which Clarkson was noted to be a longtime fan of. Clarkson’s comments appeared to be a nod to Jones’ comments that each “next season” will see the Cowboys at the Super Bowl.

However, these comments have often left Clarkson and other fans disappointed. Clarkson shared, “Our team is probably one of the most hated.”

“Because I also think, too, we’re always so hopeful. I don’t think there’s been more dreamers since the ‘90s. Every year is our year.”

Clarkson teased that being from Texas, her being a Cowboys fan was unavoidable. She also noted that she got into the game while playing fantasy football.

As noted by Fox News, Clarkson has had quite the history with the team. She wore a Cowboys jersey while hosting the 2023 NFL Honors. She was also the halftime performer at Texas Stadium during Dallas’ Thanksgiving game back in 2006 against the New York Jets.

At this time, as with other teams, the Cowboys are using the offseason to work on their roster. They recently ended their contract with head coach Mike McCarthy after four seasons, hiring offensive coordinator Brian Schottenheimer.

Rumors abound otherwise, but it is generally expected that Dak Prescott will enter his tenth season with the team. Prescott has also just undergone major surgery but was shown having practice with some of his teammates. This was seen in a recent post on X. formerly Twitter.
