Jeremiah Raber Mourns Loss Of ‘Mother’ Mary Schmucker
Breaking and Return to Amish alum Jeremiah Raber is mourning the loss of “mother” Mary Schmucker. She was always so loving to those who needed a strong maternal figure. More so, she tried never to judge. Now, she has sadly passed away, and it has hit her former co-stars very hard. Keep reading for more on what Jeremiah had to say.
Jeremiah Raber Mourns Loss Of ‘Mother’ Mary Schmucker
Mama Mary Schmucker had been fighting for a very long time. In 2022, she was diagnosed with colon cancer, and that broke many hearts. Viewers loved her as the fun and lively matriarch on Breaking Amish and its subsequent spin-off, Return to Amish. She was there for all who needed her and was never one to judge but rather guide. Mary was a fighter and did her best, but sadly, she eventually had to have hospice care. That was a sad update for followers as they were scared it could be the end for her.
However, she was still in good spirits, but soon enough, her close friend, Becky, shared that things were not looking good. No sooner than she gave this update did Mama Mary pass away. She passed away on Friday, March 28th, 2025, in her home. Mary was only sixty-five, and fans were brokenhearted. One of her closest co-stars and friends, Jeremiah Raber, spoke out after Mary passed away. He was devastated over her death and shared that she was the closest thing to a “mother” he ever had.
He wrote so beautifully about Mama Mary Schmucker and made it clear that she was a special spirit. Furthermore, Jeremiah noted that she was now an angel but left a lasting impact. He did not have to say it but yes, she will be missed by so many, even those who never met her in person. Any time an update was posted about her health, fans and followers immediately sent prayers. They wanted her to heal and get back on her feet as soon as possible. Sadly, she succumbed but is now at peace.

After Jeremiah Raber paid tribute to Mama Mary Schmucker, his followers could not help but chime in with love and prayers. Anyone who watched the hit TLC reality series or followed Jeremiah knew how special his relationship was with Mary. She always tried to guide and not shame him, which was a beautiful thing to see. Mary loved him like her own blood, and she will be forever missed for her gentle spirit:
