Brandon Barash Hints At ‘Days Of Our Lives’ Return?
Days Of Our Lives fans were devastated when Brandon Barash was fired out of nowhere last year after half a decade on the soap. A new social media post seemed to hint that he might be returning to the Peacock soap opera. Keep reading for more details.
Brandon Barash Fired From Days Of Our Lives
Brandon Barash joined Days Of Our Lives in 2019 in the role of Stefan DiMera after Tyler Christopher left the role. The character was seemingly killed off later that year and Stefan’s heart was donated to Julie. But in 2020, the actor returned in a new role.
It turns out that Stefan had a twin brother, Jake, who was thought to have died after childbirth. In a storyline only Days could pull off, Jake was eventually killed and his donated heart revived Stefan from the dead thanks to Dr. Rolf (William Utay.)
Stefan and Jake were both involved romantically with Gabi Hernandez. Camila Banus played Gabi until leaving the show in 2023. Cherie Jimenez was cast in the role in 2024.
In October 2024, Brandon Barash revealed that he had been let go from the show, even though he was in the middle of a contract. The last time viewers saw Stefan, he was stuffed in a trunk by his mother Vivian Alamain’s henchman, Ivan. The actor said at the time that it was a “gut punch” to leave the show. He didn’t seem interested in returning unless the show had new writers.

Hints He’s Returning To The Daytime Soap?
Before he joined Days Of Our Lives, Brandon Barash was on General Hospital. He played Johnny Zacchara, part of the Zacchara mob family. The character was sent to prison in 2016. GH fans are constantly begging for the popular actor to return.
But a new post on Instagram caused Days fans to speculate that Brandon Barash was returning to Salem instead. The actor posted a selfie with the caption, “What time is it? Aura time” and tagged Days actor Robert Scott Wilson.
The post prompted a rumor that Brandon Barash is returning to Days Of Our Lives. According to some fans, now is the perfect time for Stefan to return to break up Gabi’s growing romance with JJ Deveraux (Casey Moss.)
Fans React To Rumors
Fans took to social media to share their thoughts on the possibility of Brandon Barash’s return. Many soap viewers were all-in on the idea, especially a potential love triangle between Stefan, Gabi, and JJ.
- “His exit was so rushed for the show, so this would be fun to get a love triangle, and it would happen right when Gabi feels truly comfortable with JJ.”

However, a few fans burst the bubble by pointing out that Brandon Barash’s post was likely just to promote the Aura watch brand. “Keep in mind, this could just be Rob Willson (Alex Kiriakis) promoting Aura watches as other actors has been seen with the watches after a party they done for Days.”
Another fan noted that former Days star Greg Vaughan also promotes the Aura watch brand.
