Bachelor Grant Ellis turned heads when he released a rap song ahead of his season premiere. Many viewers started to think he was on the reality show to promote his music career, not to find love. Now he’s dropped another song. Keep reading to find out more.

Bachelor Grant & Juliana Reveal Bond Over Music

Shortly before his season of The Bachelor premiered in January, Grant Ellis released a rap song called “Party Girl.” While the tune was catchy, some Bachelor Nation fans were getting flashbacks. Grant is hardly the first person on the show to promote their music career. Jed Wyatt, anyone?

Music became a regular theme on Grant’s season. He played an original song on a piano for Alexe Godin and played the bagpipes while in Scotland.

Part of his connection with eventual winner Juliana Pasquarosa began when she played the piano for him on night one. Juliana and Grant revealed to Us Weekly that music played a big role in their secret “happy couple” dates while the show was airing.

Engaged couples on the show have to keep their relationship secret until the season finale airs. The show sets up secret “happy couple” weekends where the couples can spend time together out of the public eye. According to Grant, their “happy couple” accommodations included a piano.

“We played [his song] ‘Party Girls’ a couple times, but then we just went back to our regular everyday music,” Juliana said about how music was involved in their time together.

Grant Ellis Drops Second Song

Grant’s “Party Girl” song wasn’t a huge hit, but it was catchy enough for fans to want more. He reportedly said on Nick Viall’s podcast that he had songs for every episode of the season but didn’t release them because of the backlash for his first single.

But now Grant Ellis is ready to share a new song with the world. He released “High School Crush” on Spotify earlier this week after the Season 29 finale.

Unfortunately, it’s since been removed but is still on TikTok.

Fans’ Surprise Reactions

Bachelor Nation fans took to social media to discuss the song’s release and eventual removal. They were divided over Grant’s motives and whether he has a future in music.

  • “One song posted the day before the season started, the other as soon as the season ended. Not exactly dispelling the talk he did the Bachelor to push his music career.”
  • “Sounds like some kind of circa-2009 Drake or Trey Songz type of song”
  • “if this doesn’t give Julianna an instant ICK there’s no saving the girl”
  • “He literally is showing everyone what he went on the show for. It’s right in their face. He’s a social climber.”
  • “I kinda like it? lol. I like the sound of it at least. It’s giving old school r & b? But sort of a flop lol.”
  • “I’m not saying Grant’s songs are good necessarily, but they are extremely catchy”
  • “Y’all supported Kaitlyn Bristowe’s short-lived singing career, leave this man alone”
