Jonathan Rone Almost Made It To Golden Bachelorette Hometowns
Joan Vassos was on a quest to find love in her golden years after leaving Gerry Turner’s season of The Golden Bachelor. She was named the franchise’s first-ever Golden Bachelorette. Jonathan Rone was one of the men hoping to find love with Joan.
However, he was sent home in Week 5 before the Hometown Date episode. Despite not finding a love connection with Joan, Jonathan was determined to find love again after his divorce. He revealed during the Men Tell All special that he was dating someone. However, they’ve since broken up.
Has He Been Offered Golden Bachelor Role?
Despite his recent heartbreak, Jonathan Rone isn’t giving up on love. He was a recent guest on the Almost Famous podcast. He shared where he’s at in his love journey right now. “As the saying goes, ‘Love is not for the faint in heart.’ Through this whole journey that I’ve been through, the ups and the downs, and where I’m at right now, it’s like, I don’t want to say that I’m out, like, searching, like, looking. I look at it as something that will organically happen when it happens,” he said.
Does that mean he’s open to being the next Golden Bachelor? ABC had a huge hit on its hands with Gerry Turner as lead. However, faith in the franchise dipped after Gerry and his final rose winner, Theresa Nist, divorced after a few months of marriage.
The network hasn’t renewed The Golden Bachelor for another season, but fans strongly think it will return this fall. Especially after The Bachelorette was put on an indefinite pause.
Jonathan Rone said that whether ABC comes calling or he meets someone on the street, “My heart is open and I always lead with authenticity.”
It didn’t sound like he’d been in touch with the network, but he could also be keeping it quiet until the official announcement.
Bachelor Nation Seniors Meet Younger Generation On Bachelor In Paradise
ABC has yet to confirm that a second Golden Bachelor season will even happen. There’s still a chance Jonathan Rone could get the offer for the lead. If not, there’s always Bachelor In Paradise.
In a shocking twist, the network is giving fans the Golden Bachelor In Paradise they wanted. But the seniors won’t be on the beach alone. Season 10 will be a mix of alum from the Golden spinoffs and the younger Bachelor and Bachelorette rejected contestants.

Jesse Palmer revealed during Grant Ellis’ season finale the names of three more cast members. Jenn Tran’s Bachelorette contestants Jonathan Johnson and Hakeem Moulton were previously announced. Jesse extended an invite to Bachelor Season 29 third-place runner-up Zoe McGrady and Golden stars Leslie Fhima and Gary Levingston.
Some fans want to see Gerry Turner get a redemption arc on Bachelor In Paradise. The beachy spinoff usually casts about 25 alum, but this season might be super-sized.
