Are Katy Perry & JonBenét Ramsey Connected?
The internet is no stranger to conspiracy theories. Recently, people online are discussing if there is a possible connection between the late child beauty queen JonBenét Ramsey and pop star Katy Perry. In fact, Perry herself has recently weighed in on the issue.
Katy Perry Herself Recently Commented On A Video Concerning A Theory Tying Her To JonBenét Ramsey
Ramsey was a child beauty queen, the daughter of Patsy and John Ramsey, who had been killed at only six years old on December 25, 1996. At the time, her death, which had been ruled a homicide, garnered much media attention.
Over the years, various conspiracy theories have come out concerning Ramsey’s death. One theory that has been around since 2014 in particular had claimed Ramsey is actually alive and had grown up to be pop star and television personality Katy Perry.
As shared by E! Online, Perry herself recently commented on the theory. This was in response to an AI-generated video shown on Instagram in which Ramsey could be seen transforming into Perry.
Earlier in March, Perry commented, “Wait, am I?” According to Us Weekly, the video originated on YouTube, but the original has since been deleted.
Allegedly, the video had claimed that Perry’s real parents were actually Patsy and John and that JonBenét’s death was faked. The video touched on the similarities between Perry and JonBenét’s eyebrows, jaws, and the bridge of their noses.
JonBenét’s Father John Ramsey Had Recently Spoken About The Ongoing Investigation
As the publication noted, however, the idea does run into a few holes. JonBenét and Perry notably have around a six-year age difference. This means Perry’s comments were likely meant in jest.
JonBenét’s murder investigation is still ongoing. Her father John had notably spoken with NBC News earlier this year and shared the hope that it will soon be solved.

As John shared with the outlet, “They were just open to sincerely discuss the case. I’m just very impressed with the caliber of the leadership now and that gave me great hope.”
Fans Have Shared Their Own Reactions To The Video
At the time, John also alluded to theories implicating him and his spouse Patsy, who passed away in 2006 at the age of 49, in their daughter’s death. As he noted, “Our family reputation has been damaged quite severely by the police. The only way it will be mostly restored is if there is a killer caught.”
John also shared hope that forensic genetic genealogy, will finally help solve the mystery. As he noted, “That’s how it’s going to get solved.”
On the Instagram video, many fans shared their reactions to the claims. Many commenters found it disrespectful to JonBenét’s memory. Some were also surprised by Perry’s own reaction. Some comments include:

- “The fact that Katy Perry actually commented makes this even better.”
- “Let her precious soul rest in peace people.”
- “This is a real child, daughter, and sister whose life was taken from her. This is so disrespectful to the family. I hope they find the animal who did this and some peace for the family.”
