‘When Calls The Heart’ Stars Prepare To Film Second Hallmark Mystery
When Calls The Heart and Hallmark Mystery fans should have something to celebrate together. Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith are filming a new Nelly Knows Mysteries movie soon. Although the network has not formally announced this movie, Pascale has been on Hearties podcasts talking about it. Therefore, it appears to be happening.

Pascale Hutton And Kavan Smith Filming New Nelly Knows Mysteries Soon
When Calls The Heart stars Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith are returning as Nelly Parker and Detective Michael Hogan in the upcoming Nelly Knows Mysteries: All Manners of Murder. According to the industry site Creative B.C., they start production on Monday, March 31, and will be done with production on April 15.
Director David I. Strasser is back, leading this quirky mystery. He recently directed The Wish Swap, which includes a cameo from Pascale Hutton. Katherine Wagner is also returning as the screenwriter of her original series.
The first mystery had a lot of quirkiness and humor. The talk was fast, and there was a lot of Scooby Doo sort of whacky whimsy. Moreover, Nelly is an upbeat character with loads of whimsy. The Detective is a little more rough around the edges. He has the practicality and the street smarts of an experienced detective. However, she manages to soften him and see the world through her rose colored glasses.
Although the first movie came out in August, the pair were already pushing for a second movie. Speaking to TV Insider, Pascale indicated that they wanted to do more. “I definitely think fans and viewers will be wanting more because our relationship in the movie and in that world is just starting.”
Comparing these character’s relationship to “oil and water,” they wanted to explore how they fall into a relationship. Noting that they don’t jump into a relationship and don’t kiss, she admits it was “kind of a relief.” She looked at the lack of kissing as the opportunity for “a lot of room to grow.”
Pascale Hutton And Kavan Smith Will Be Filming When Calls The Heart This Summer
Although Pascale Hutton and Kavan Smith will be filming the new Hallmark Mystery Nelly Knows Mysteries: All Manners of Murders in April, the two will reunite this summer. That is because Hallmark has renewed When Calls The Heart for Season 13. That means that Kavan and Pascale will be filming this from sometime in July until mid-November.
Hearties know Pascale and Kavan as Rosemary and Leland Coulter. They are married on the series with their adorable baby Goldie. There will certainly be more adventures in the “baker’s dozen” season. However, it will certainly not be as quirky as Nelly Knows.
