Robin Roberts Keeps Tradition With Friends After Cancer Diagnosis
Good Morning America‘s Robin Roberts shared a tradition she has had with friends over the years on social media. Notably, the annual tradition started after Roberts received a cancer diagnosis. In addition, some of Roberts’ friends should be recognizable to other fans of news networks.
Good Morning America‘s Robin Roberts Received An Early Breast Cancer Diagnosis Back In 2007
Roberts became a co-anchor on Good Morning America back in 2005. Beforehand, she had worked for ESPN for 15 years.
In 2007, Roberts had been diagnosed with an early form of breast cancer. Following this, Roberts has undergone surgery and chemotherapy treatments.
During this moment in her life, Roberts’ friends stood by her. Over the years, they would continue a tradition with the famous journalist. Recently, Roberts took to social media to share the tradition with fans.
Taking to Instagram, Roberts shared, “The tradition continues! Started in 2007 when I was diagnosed with breast cancer and these dear friends wanted to lift my spirits by regularly having lunch together.”
“And we haven’t stopped all these years later. Today we dined at the fabulous [Le Café Louis Vuitton NYV] and Chef Christophe graciously invited us into the kitchen. Here’s to a supportive sisterhood.”

In the accompanying carrousel post, the first image showed Roberts with her friends during their tour of the kitchen. The second photo showed Roberts and her friends standing together. In the final photo, coffee art was showcased with the café’s logo sitting atop some foam.
Some of Roberts’ friends seen in the post were recognizable media personalities. This included film producer Tonya Lewis Lee, as well as journalists Gayle King and Deborah Roberts. Deborah also notably shared a similar post on Instagram, including more photos of food.
